  2. The egg is placed in a bowl of any size and cooked slightly, cooks until the egg white is almost solid and the yolk is still soft. Butter or margarine is added to prevent the egg from sticking .

Eggs, according to the Incredible Edible Egg's website contain 13 essential nutrients and only contain 70 calories on average.Pouched Eggs also contain magnesium, sodium, calcium, ribflavin, thiamin, phosphorous, iron and zinc. In addition, eggs contain two compounds called lutein and zeazeathin.

Poached eggs are very healthy because it has all the nutritions of egg without added fat from frying in oil or butter.
-a large egg has 75 calories, and poaching adds no calories or fat.
-Eating nothing but eggs for a month isn't a healthy way to lose weight.

And I think 160 is okay but I don't think steel cut oats fill your stomach so you will intend to eat more which will might be a lot for your body because 1/4 cup serving is not enough.

steel cut oats wont fill your stomach, and if something tastes good, you want more and i agree that you would want more and gain a lot of calories.

  8. Poaching an egg is nutritionally one of the best ways of serving an egg. Poached eggs contain all the nutrients without added fat from frying in oil or butter.

Whole wheat bread is much harder to digest so it will fill you up more, causing you not to eat much of it. Some benefits of whole wheat is that it is rich in calcium, iron, fiber, and minerals. However it is high in oil, some whole wheat are not entirely whole wheat the contain some white wheat.

Half of your bodies dry weight is protein, there is a high level of protein in meat (fish, chicken, lamb)Proteins are digested to release amino acids (amino acid release new protein converted into hormones such as adrenalin or used as an energy source.)

Benefits of steel cut oats is it provides you with only 150 calories for 1/2 a cup, also helps lower cholesterol, provides 5g of protein.

Calories is the amount of energy food contains

  9. poached eggs are good for you because they contain protein, B vitamins, Vits A and D, calcium, iron, selenium and other trace elements. They contain less calories than fried because you don't use fat to cook them in.

  10. Poached Eggs: Eggs that have been prepared by poaching. so when you cook it in water. For one large poached egg (50g) there are 71 calories, 6.3g protein, 5% Vitamin A, 4% Vitamin D. -47 (mildly inflammatory) (daily amount of 50)

Mr.Cheney I tried finding the definition of inflammatory, but it doesnt relate to food.

Whole Wheat Bread: 71% carbs, 17% fats and 12% protein. -78 mildly inflammatory

Calories: Calories are energy, we need the right amount of calories in our body in order to be able to move, but too much isnt healthy.

Protein: Protein helps strengthen bones, is good for growth and body repair. Foods with a large amount of protein are milk, eggs (whites), nuts, fish, beans,

Before researching I thought steel cut oats are like the more pure, healthier type, unlike quaker oats. I researched and found out that 1/4 a cup steel-cut oats has 170 calories and still has that amount when cooked. (The amount of calories for breakfast time need is around 300-500.) You will get 29g carbs, 38g of fibre, and 7g of protein.

I also already know about the difference between potatoes, brown rice and white rice. Level of healthiness goes in that order.

    One Cup of each contains....
Calories: cooked potatoes 138, cooked brown rice 216, cooked white rice 205
Protein: potatoes 3g, white rice 4g, brown rice 5g
Carbs: potatoes 26g, white rice 45g, brown rice 4g
Fibre: potatoes 3g, white rice 1g, brown rice 4g
Fat: potatoes 2.8g, white rice 0.4g, brown rice 1.8g

    1. ok well i learnt the inside facts on the difference of whole grain and white grain and i gotRefined grains include white rice, white bread, regular white pasta, and other foods that have been made with white flour (also called enriched wheat flour or all-purpose flour), including many cookies, cakes, breakfast cereals, crackers, and snack foods.
Whole grains contain three parts: the bran (outer layer), endosperm (middle layer), and germ (inner layer). The bran and germ are the most nutritious parts of the grain; they contain concentrated amounts of fiber, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. During the refining process, however, the bran and germ are removed from the whole grain. The endosperm, the part of the grain that is left after the refining process, is primarily composed of starchy carbohydrates and is low in nutrients. Some nutrients, including iron and a handful of B vitamins, are added back to refined grains and flours during manufacturing (hence the term "enriched wheat flour"), but these represent only a fraction of what is initially removed from the grain. For these reasons, refined grains do not provide the same health benefits as whole grains.

  15. Poaching is one of the healthiest ways to serve eggs as it has protein, vitamins, calcium, iron, selenium etc...etc.. and requires no oil to cook. If you are eating healthy and trying to lose weight, then adding an egg to your breakfast may actually help you in weight loss. Now i have a cousin named Anurag in India and i learned this over my trip my cousin likes to lift weights and all of that so he goes to a gym everyday , he has a personal trainer this trainer is basically for a guide for Anurag's diet and this trainer told him to eat egg as much as you want but only the whiteish part of the egg not the yellow
yolk. i wondered why until i found out that the white has fewer calories and the majority of the protein in the egg but that didn't mean the yellow didn't, it was just the white is much healthier because it doesn't contain much calories and i never ever knew about this at all and when i saw what my cousin ate it would be like non-salted peanuts , white meat and i tried eating all of this and it was disgusting in the sense's very PLAIN like white meat and red meat the difference red is very nice and juicy where as white is very dry and not so yumm or delicious as red.

  17. Poached eggs are very healthy because your cooking all the nutrients in the egg without any fatty oil or butter to cook it with. Only water.

Whole wheat has changed a lot in this generation. The goal was to mass produce it so it could feed everyone; especially the hungry. Although in this process most of the nutritional benefits has been lost. It now is very hard to digest (weight gain) and doesn't have nearly as much nutrients.

Calories is the amount of energy food has.

Steel cut oats is one of (if not the) healthiest way to eat oats. It is the purest way to eat it, fresh of the blade. Steel cut oats also contain a high amount of protein and fiber.

Protein is a nutrient and it has many benefits including constructing your muscles to become bigger and stronger.

I think we should have a cooking class. Maybe it will inspire others to eat healthy.

-Steel-cut oats are whole grain groats (the inner portion of the oat kernel) which have been cut into pieces.
-Steel-cut oats take longer to cook than instant or rolled oats due to their minimal processing, typically 15–30 minutes
-Steel-cut oatmeal is a far healthier option and it is a favorite of the whole family. So what sets these types of oats apart from the instant variety in the grocery stores? Steel cut oats are essential grains which are chock full of nutritional value, rich in B-vitamins, calcium, protein and fiber while low in sodium and unsaturated fat. In fact, just one cup of steel-cut oats contains 8 g of insoluble fiber.

  33. Whole Wheat

-Refined grains are whole grains that have had the germ and the bran removed (examples include white rice, white flour, grits and cream of wheat). This results in a loss of fibre, vitamins and minerals. Some refined grains are enriched B that is, some of the lost minerals and vitamins are added back. In Canada, manufacturers are required to enrich white flour, resulting in a flour that is a significant source of several vitamins and iron. However, it still lacks some nutrients and the fibre found in whole grain flour.

-Whole grains are a source of fibre and are typically low in fat. A diet rich in whole grains has been shown to have a number of health benefits and may help reduce your risk of heart disease.
