We All Fall Down - Grieving
John & Will, with Ting have just met up with New York City Fire Fighters. Our prior knowledge makes us fully aware that as they go up and around the corner there death is sure and also moments away. As a reader we want John and Will to stop them.
The moment we realize that one of the firefighters is James father we understand that regardless if John, Will; and Ting get out there will still be great hardship and tragedy.

i thought the video was very sad. the lady's story(aicha)was very tragic. she was married when she was 14, lost a child at 15, and then another one at 16. i want to know what happened to her kids, and she doesnt even know where her last son is.
ReplyDeletei think she is crying because the impact was above their office, and the news must have mentioned where the impact was. so i think will's mom may think that they are dead. she is probably crying, and must be finding a way to contact john and will to know if they are alive.
i think james' mom is calm and has no worries. james' dad must have phoned his home and said that james is at the station and she has no worries about him. and i dont think she knows the building is going to fall, so i think she has no worries about james' dad either.
i think will's mom is under more stress.
john and will want to keep moving, but even the firefighters said to take it easy, and they are past the fire. will's mom doesnt know if they are alive, so she has more stress wondering what happened to them.
do you think that will's mom still thinks they have a chance that will and john are still alive.

there wife and mom are way more worried because they do not know what is happening but john and will are a little more happier because they know they have a high chance to make it down

even john was not concerned because he thinks that they've made it.
I found the video really touching.The way the mothers had to put up with with so much. Aisha's life story was really sad about how she was married at 14 and lost so many kids which was scary.I think they were really strong because they talked in front of so many people and shared their story.
ReplyDeleteI think shes scared and shes probably tripping out tryna reach John and Will adn i could understand as a mother my parents went crazy when i was lost at the beach but i was alive but in Ms.Fullers circumstances she thinks there dead the plane hit near the office and shes probably tryna reach them but no answer or service so its hard
ReplyDeleteI think James's mother thinks her husband will come back home because every other mission hes come back home and its better staying positive and partially negative at the same time so if he doesnt come she understands shell feel sad and it would be hard to cope with but shell know he sacrificed his life for his country
I think the moms are because theyre thinking theyre boys are dead but the Guys know theyll make it out so i think its harder on the moms.

DeleteI think Will's mother is freaking out right. She is probably thinking of the worst scenario possible. Maybe she is with her sister like John suggested.
ReplyDeleteI also think Jame's mother is also freaking out just not as much. You do have a lot of stress if your a fireman's wife but I guess you learn to cope.
I think Will's mom is under more pressure because they haven't trained years for this. Jame's dad has done this before so maybe she learned to cope with this.

Deleteit think that video it tells us that they ones who had lost someone one on that day they dont know if there loved ones were a part of what happened that day and the feeling that you have lost someone close its shocking you can never feel how those people that had lost someone that day is feeling because as the women said in the video it was like they were buried alive.

i think james mother i think she is thinking of where her son is right now because she would of known that they would call her husband on the job to help out she could also be thinking about john and will if james told her that they were going to the wtc today
i think the mother/wife because shes thinks that they might be dead and worrying if there safe or not i think think its john and will because they dont know if the wtc is going to fall on them they only know they have about 39 more floors to climb down
After watching the video, it made me think about how much grief there can be when losing someone close to you, and I remembered how my mom reacted to her mom dying (my grandma) but I don't think I can witness the grief of losing someone in a non-natural way, when someone intentionally kills your loved one because then you know the person didn't want to die.
ReplyDeleteJohn and Will's mother is probably freaking out, as will was predicting or speechlessly in shock and in deep grief for her son and husband, because they are all she has, only 3 people in the family...
I think the family back home wont really be in what I call stress, maybe some will react to it like that, stress over there loved ones safety and some will know that there loved one is definitely not safe at all and will be in complete shock, also shock because the situation was highly unlikely and unbelievable.
Will and John could be under some stress, but I doubt it since they don't know what's going to happen to them and I think there relieved that they got away from the fire and Will even said that hes feeling safe because the fire-fighters came to rescue, and yes Will did realise what will happen to them because they're going up.

DeleteI agree, I think the mothers would be under the stress more because they're watching it from afar and have no updated information on them. I think Will would have stress but feel more adrenaline.

Deletewills mother would be in such a shock to hear her son and husband are both in the world trade centre. she would be trying to find contact with her son and husband to know if they are safe and alive. she would be worried right know that her 2 beloved family members are going through either survival or death ( we know that the towers are going down but wills mom doesn't know if they are alive or not)
ReplyDeletejams mother is at the train station and she wont be able to make it home due to the traffic, but she definitely knows that her husband is a fire-fighter and that he will be needed to save other people in the towers so she will be worrying about her husband and wondering if hes aright or not( but not as much as will mom) wills mom doesnt even know if will and john are ok or not, she only knows that they are at the world trade centre that has been hit by planes.
i think will and his mom. will wants to get out of the towers as quick as possible so he can get contact with his mom that he and john are ok. wills mom is suffering through grief(mentally), if her son and husband are going to be ok, if they are alive, and thats because she as a mother and a wife doesnt want to loose any of her beloved ones.
I think the video was very realistic and sad. I feel very sorry for the mother because at least the others know what happened to their loved ones. Also, people are accusing her son of being guilty, but she doesn't even care she just misses her son. She is a really strong person.

DeleteI think she's a strong person because tragedy has happened to her and she still helps others. And I do believe she still has hope. Not because its very realistic but she is a mother and she really doesn't want to believe he's dead.
DeleteYes i agree, I think that some people mostly kids deal with tragedies by being stubborn. Adults I think will move on but if they do hear that occurred event from some one else they have empathy. They really experienced it.

At the point where they are which is halfway down I think now the mom's/wives would be more worried now because they don't know if there going to come back or what is happening to them.

ReplyDeleteI think John and Will mother is probably panicking right now because she is worrying if their alive even though they made a phone call , she still doesn't know if they made it past the fire or not.
I think James mother is worried and panicking but not as bad as Will's mother because, she probably has faith that her husband is going to get rid of the fire, in time because obviously she doesn't know the building is going down

I think since Will's mom knows what floor her husband is.., she will be worried because when she is watching the news they saw what floor the fire is on. ReplyDeleteI think that James mother doesn't know what is happening maybe she went to work. I think she goes to work because Will mentioned that they aren't that rich and so I think since a firefighter doesn't get enough salary, they mom works too. She probably would of knew this by someone else.

James's mother is really worried because her husband Mr. Bennett is risking his own life on something he wasn't apart of and his life is in danger because he's going up not down the stairs .

DeleteI Agree with the Lady that it doesn't matter what her son did, she is still sad and grieving after he son being in prison. You can't really imagine how much grief there might be to that person. And being a mother is hard work, just to see your child fall is painful, but to your the child that you raised go to jail, not knowing if he is guilty or not, then that is VERY painful.
ReplyDeleteI think that John's & Will's mothers are in tears. A mother's love is greater than anything in the world. You should see the joy on your mother's face when you first started walking. They are right now very hurt, why? 1.Because Will & John are stuck in the building. 2. She most-likely thinks that there dead.
John's Mom is very worried as well because she knows that if there is a fire then both of them might go, she might not know that James is at the fire station. But I also think that she has this hope in her that gives her the strength
I think that the mother is more stressed out then all of them, because John keeps on saying that it's going to be ok and I think that he believe that. Meantime the Mom most-likely that there dead thus she doesn't have that hope. She is unaware where they are and the most part is that John nor Will can call there Mother.
Delete@Olga The mother actually had no idea where her son is.She doesn't know if hes dead or being tortured.It must have been really hard for her not knowing where to look for him because i think she had lost like 3 children before.

If i was the mother i would be very scared and worried because i don't know what has happened to them are they still alive or are they dead . as a reader we know that they are alive but if you were their mother i don't think you would know at all again because of what they had said about the power lines not working because to many people are trying to call at once.

but it such an impact. Even though they had training like they mentioned in the book all the fire fighter's were tired and they only made it half way so far. Plus they are going up. And when I researched about 9/11 it said that many died including firefighters. And I said "higher chance". Not going to.
