My ideal career choice is to be an astronaut. I've picked this career so far because I love to solve mystery or break unreasonable theories which have been made through-out this decade. Like for instance on example would be the 2012 rumor. One thing I know is that, to be an astronaut you need to work hard and get into university. I think it will take about 10 years, I might be wrong but I think 10 years to achieve this goal .....that 10 year countdown starts when you enter uni.
Most likely (minimum)I will need my Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Bachelor's in Biological Science, Mathematics and Science. That's a lot of work but it might be worth it.It's really cool. Right now, I need to improve on my science because that is the key subject but I missed my chance about space in Gr.6. I could of done better. My parents are expecting a well payed job. I think an Astronaut earns about 100,000 a year which is pretty good actually because I checked it up and Google says that an average family with 4 kids spend 70,000 a year. So basically you can save money and you would have a happy life. My parents want me to be one of the three: a doctor (which I hate), a lawyer ( I'm no interested)and lastly an engineer which I guess I can try. If I had to pick from those three, then it would be engineer. Most likely software.
Wow up in space. I haven't heard this before from a student. You will want to stay current on this topic. Canada and USA have stopped flying to the moon at the moment. They are exploring new technologies. Russia and likely soon China and India.
my ideal career choice is the engineering field i never would like to be in the ISS because i would like to make the latest space gadgets .
my parents think that i should also become an engineer if i can not be that they would like me to become a doctor because they know i like math and to build stuff.
well first i would have to have extremely high marks and that means to work really hard and then i will have to also have extra cirricular activities so the uni. people can see what else i do.
my ideal career choice is to be an artist. i want to be an artist because i love to draw and this is not something which will make me bored. my mom says that its OK if i become an artist but my dad says that i either have to become a teacher(i like this career but not as much as i like art) or a doctor (i know that i cant study that much)
I think you should go toward the path that leads to becoming a artist because then you can do all your life and enjoy it because you love doing it and maybe you can convince your parents because its you who has to do ll work so it should be your choice right..?
Nice, To my opinion I think it's what you like to do not what your parents want you to do yes being a doctor or a teacher can be fun but doing what you want to do is fun-er .
i dont know what career i want and my parents tell me its my choice in what i want to do.
but in the process to be whatever i might be i know i have to work hard its not easy to get into high top schools and as Mr. Cheney told are group that for example teachers school every year they accept 500 people and there is 10,000 people apply for the same spot your high grades that wouldn't get you in you would have to for this example have experience volunteer that involves hard work and determination it would be hard an we have to get ready for what's ahead
As Ms. Ang comment its great not to know...but prepare for everything but be open to anything. I never even thought about teaching till my early twenties.
i would like to be a engineer. mainly because of my dad. when he was in india, he was a engineer, and when i was 4 i learned to use a computer.i really like using computers, i think that i am fairly good with technology, and its alot of fun.i would want to be a software engineer. hardware is not my thing. i cant use blue prints to build things.
i will try to excell at math and science. those are also my 2 strongest subjects.
i think i will do what mysister is doing. she got her under-graduate and is now working.in a year she will go for her bachelors and her masters.then work again.after 2-4 years she will get a phd. so for engineering, it would be about 9 years of school for a phd. including the work hours.
Even through we got a lot of different careers to chose from and got lots of speakers today , I'm still not really sure what my career would be yet.I know that all of the careers have to be given a lot of time and studying and I learned that sometimes your not always on the right track but then later on you do when you realize you like something more "interesting". My parents actually say its my choice what i want to be in the future and i will always have their guidance but i think they would want me to become a teacher because i work really well with kids but I don't know :/
@malav i think i am also going to be going to a highschool that offers more tech.it would probably be easier to get into universitywith better technology in highschool
Ideally I want to be a basketball player (Athlete) and the reason I want this job is because it's fun you earn a lot and I'm doing something I like .
My Parents want to me have any type but job but sports can't be a first priority job, because if I don't study and always think I'm going to make the NBA and I don't then I have nothing else .
1: Get A Lot Better At My Dribbling 2: Get A Lot Better At My Finish Near The Hoop 3: Do Good In School .
I'm not completly sure of what I want to be yet. I like art and also culinary (mostly baking). Maybe I can find a career, maybe a pastry chef, or a cake artist that would fuse my intrests. I also maybe would take a career in only art, so like cartooning because I think that's the most interesting genre if art. For these jobs I'd probably need to take art throughout high school and after high school I would continue art or maybe go to pastry school. , My parent don't really want me to take a certain career, it's more of my choice. My mom does say though to go in the path of sonething like doctor and if you decide you d dont want that career, so many more have opened up.
It was already part of my thoughts before, I was actually pretty surprised when I found out Ms. Ang was that before. I thought if she wasn't a teacher before, she would have been a scientist of some sort.
That is awesome that this was your own inspiration but also is a great discovery. Ask her questions, she can share insight and she will appreciate your goals.
That is so surprising. I never would have known that or even guessed. I think we all have many other things about us that doesn't always show up in the class room. It is refreshing to see the vast interests people have. As much as we see how complex and deep MLK was it is also true of every person in the class.
My career choice is either to be a teacher, criminal lawyer, police officer, pharmacist, and The Prime minister of CANADA! But mostly a pro. dancer
My parents want me to be either a doctor, lawyer, dentist, police officer, scientist , accountant ,Astronaut , or a Pilot
I have decided to go slow.. i will first start off with something easy i will take baby steps and make my way up to one of these careers!
1. Obviously do much better in school ( making sure my grades aren't any lower then 80%) 2.Be able to handle more then 5 things at once 3.Loving in what i have chosen, believing, taking baby steps
im into all types i don't know if you have noticed i always preform in Asian heritage and i just love to dance :) i cant do any type and im a pretty quick learner but my parents want to to shoot for the stars to dream bigger something like a criminal lawyer or a divorce lawyer
I personally want to be a pharmacist. I know that it will take long, but I rather do something that I like than something I don't. I would have to do a lot of chemistry (which I love), but it's worth it, plus you get very good pay. My parents want me to be a lawyer. Pretty much, my parents think that if I'm going to talk a lot then I should paid for my talking. They also think that I would be rich. I don't really like English and paper work, I vote doing hands-on things. 1.Do well in Math and Science. (70% min.) 2.Having patience. 3.Love what I do.
In my opinion if you have grades less then 80 there is a 50% chance of you will get more opportunities for really high pay and difficult jobs as in being a doctor or a dentist
i think that my ideal career choice would be anything to do with art as art takes allot of part in many things you do day to day.But some of the choices that have come to mind would be interior design, professional photography, art museum/gallery's, architect. My mom said that she wants me to go into the of either a doctor or lawyer. And my dad suggested that i should either work at a gallery or become a professional photographer
1.Coming from an art background my plan is to get some contacts from my dad as he knows many people in the art industries as my siblings say its not what you know but who you know.
2.I shall try and get 95%-100% in my arts as i will take it into high school.
3.Using the contacts i shall start from the bottom (volunteering)and try to work my way to the top.
yes, having contacts is often the way of the world, but focus on your skills. Friends can get you opportunities but your skills will keep you working and doing the job you love.
@Mr.Cheney yes what you said is very true and should be not only included with my career but everyone else, as it would really help.Another thing that we should know is that we will not all get what we want but it will help for us to still use our talents in what we end up doing.Just as you said you wanted to do professional athlete but it led you to being a gym teacher and you are still happy with it.So using your talents in your career and job application.
@ prabhjot i also think that in the future, all careers will involve more complicated technology, and so, cyber arts would help you in the sense that you can work well with electronics.
My career choice is to be a naturopath or a writer. My two favourite subjects, science and english. I really can't decide which career path to follow, however i have thought about connecting the two; i could be working as a naturopath but as well write books about natural cures. I would start off with going to university for an english degree as well as a Bachelor of science degree, then going for an extra 4 years in a college of naturopathy.
To become successful in this i would have to: 1)Keep my grades high in science (biology, chemistry, physics) take all sciences in grade 11 and 12 2)Keep my grades in an A average for english (reading, writing, communication) improve in my reading skills by constantly thinking at a higher level when reading any material 3)Improve in certain sections in math (patterning and numeration) because i will need math no matter what career choice. This will all increase my chance of succeeding in my career path.
My parents choice for my career is for me to be either a lawyer or a specialist. I dont consider these career paths due to the fact that i dont think i would find law school as interesting and the only type of doctor i want to be is a naturopath.
Dont get stressed out think about what suites you the most i know you like both but which one do you see in ur future follow your heart (this is for the highschool thing)
so many people say lawyer or seemingly their parents say lawyer. So many laser struggle to earn enough money to pay all the bills. So you should definitely love fighting for the law if you want to be a lawyer. Its not a glitzy as it appears on TV
i know this girl who is done studying to become a naturopath and is working a part time job so she can save up some money to open up her own business, i considered that but dont know if it'll work out well. also a benefit that pleases me and my parents... on average a naturopath will earn $80,000 a year even better, if i open up my own business and its successful i could earn up to $200,000 a year!
@princess daisy i think im just gonna stick with naturopathic medicine being my first priority and then if it all goes well, if i can handle all this work, i will try to write my first book. and i could even be famous in a way.
But then again, this is my dream that i will try and try to make a reality.
@ mr cheney i know, i realize that, but i still dont think it will be something that will measure up to my passion for naturopathy and writing. but one thing about law is that some people have said that i should be a lawyer, mostly because i am a persader. the reason why most parents think that law is the best way to go is because of the money, high pay!

Deletemy ideal career choice is being in something that has to do with technology.
ReplyDeletelike computer programing. IE: software engineer.
my dad think i should be a microbiologist with masters.
i would need to:
1. do better in science
2. get into a highschool/ university or college that offers in more technology. IE: cyber arts
technology is the future
