The Cheat - "Should I tell"
Hello Team,
Sarah and Katie are unsure if they should tell Robs parents about cheating on the exam. Katie is willing to tell but Sarah comments it's not their problems.
i agree with sarah its not there problem because if rob wanted to tell his parents he would have went home.in addition katie wouldn't want rob to be mad at her for telling his parents his parents about him cheating.
I think they shouldn't tell because since they are friends, I think that they should first find Rob and ask him what is her planning to do, tell his parents or run away for good?
I would tell because knowing Rob, since he did run away, and that he can do something more dangerous. If you didn't tell his parents they would not be looking for him, and if they don't look for him, then he might do something stupid.
i think that they shouldn't tell on rob because its not their problem and telling on him would b more like snitching on him and getting him into trouble but at the same time i think that they should tell on him so, his parents can make him realize that what he did was wrong and that he should never do sucha thing ever again.
They should totally like tell Rob's like parents and all, I mean thats what like i would do like... I think its best that they tell rob's parents just because of what i want to happen next in the book. I want rob to be found and told that he shouldnt run away when hes afraid, he should learn to face his fears. If this were a real situation, katie and sarah should do the responsible thing to inform rob's parents and maybe his parents will inform the police and this will create a "search party."
I think that Sarah and Katie should not tell Rob's parents about Rob cheating. I say this because..first of all, Rob was not dead, so they were wrong, also if they do tell Rob's parents that he cheated then Rob hiding and avoiding his parents will be useless. Since they both think he's dead they should investigate more on that like ask his friends etc. I would start getting, finding more clues to be sure he's dead because it would be bad saying someone especially your friend is dead and then see him alive and fine the next day. You would feel guilty also dumb.
i think they should not. its not their problem and it might be a bad idea too. if they tell his dad, what if Rob comes home the next day? then his dad would be alot more angry about him cheating AND running away.if rob comes home without them knowing, they wont be as angry. they might even feel sorry for him. if they tell his dad, i think he would rage even more. cheating is a bad thing, but if somebody ran away after getting caught because of the consequences,thats even worse.Also it sort of isnt their problem, but robs mom brought them in, so it kind of is.
i think they should tell robs parents beacuse they must wonder why would rob do such a thing, they have must of not known that rob cheated on his test and now he is to embrassed and scared to face them. Katie should tell robs parents because they much closer than sarah is to rob. sarah right its none of there problems but its a life and death situation.
i think that Sarah and Katie should explain what is the problem they should tell because the parents are dead worry about why all of the sudden their child just ran away so that is why they should tell them and then they can start a search.
if i was in the decision to tell rob's parents what happened i would tell his parents because right now rob is almost dead with hunger so they should tell the parents for him because then they can have a better idea of what has happened and then they can have some more clues.

robs parents are worried about rob so they would want to know every detail that could help them figure out where rob could be. sooner or later robs parents would find out what had happened to rob and what the reason for running away was. also if sarah and katie tell mr and mrs king what had happened then wouldnt they be helping them, then interfering in there problems. another fact is that mrs king had called for help to know if katie or her mom have any idea of rob/what has happened to him. kate ans sarah should tell that rob had cheated and he might have(they dont know for sure)been sressed about his parents reactions.
if i was katie i would have told them , so im not keeping secrets from them. also if i can tell my mom why cant i tell robs parents. if i take sarahs word on not telling and i would wnat to tell, i wouldnt know what is reight at the moment so i would ask my mom(katies mom) what she would think and what i should do.
I think that Katie and Sarah might tell Rob parents because when they find out the reason why Rob left, they would understand why he ran. But at the same time they would be even more mad at Rob and when he comes home then...
What I would do in Rob place is go back home because when your out there in the roads at night, people can kidnap you or even kill you right on the spot. If Rob goes home he would be safe from danger, but still get a punishmentfor what he has done on the test.
In my opinion I don't think that they should tell Rob's parents because if Rob wanted to tell his parents he would have came home to tell his parents himself and he wouldn't have ran away from home. What if Katie and Sarah told his parents about what happened at school and then his dad got really angry and would "ground him for life" or even KILL HIM!!!!!!!!! Then Rob would get angry at Katie and Sarah for interfering in his problem and maybe he will start ignoring them and just leave them. Then Katie and Sarah would be responsible for Rob's punishment.
I would tell and also wouldn't tell Rob's parents. I would first wait a few weeks to see if Rob shows up or not because if it's been a really long time since Rob has been missing then you can assume that it's probably something serious and then I would most likely tell his parents for his safety.
I think Katie and Sarah should tell Rob's parents. Do to the facts that if they don't they would as well get in trouble for not telling Rob's parents, and if you tell your parents and not lie about it you wont get into much trouble, because if you do lie and you'll be getting in trouble for lying and the mid-term . But either way you'll get in trouble .
I would tell because I will want to know as well and then we would go looking for him and I would tell Rob's parents that he ran away because he cheated on his mid-term .
I agree with Sarah I think that they shouldn't be so FOSS into peoples business. I think that if Rob wanted to tell his parents about cheating on the exam he would have went home instead of running away. So, I think that Katie should just leave it alone and mind her own business.
They should try telling Rob's parents because then Rob's parents would worry less, and maybe the problem wouldn't be as high tempo. That would release alot of tension but for Rob's dad he might view it differently, as Rob explained it "take it like a man". Then it seems as if he is so aggressive that there is no mercy within him. But his mom seems like the type that would save him from all of this. The type that defends their child over their said to be "over abusive" spouse. Which brings me back to the question of Should they tell Rob's parents? It would definately make sense since they are his parents. Would he get in trouble? Of course but if he doesn't tell them the truth he's in way deeper nonsense. In conclusion I say they should tell his parents.

They should tell his parents Rob is very scared of his dad and he cheated on his test so he might of ran away because he's really scared of his dad and he didn't want to face his dad.
They probably won't do anything like they said because they think there doing a play and when something might happen to rob they will tell what happen at school but maybe when Rob comes back his dad will not yell but just be happy that he's back.

@Mr.Cheney it is crucial because if hes dead hes in one spot if hes alive they know hes probably on the move and if he were to be dead he would want to die in a forest or something to hide himself but if he were alive like i said he would be on the move not in one place continuing his "trip" >O< <--- My Candy :)
i think tht they should tell on him first of all, its gonna be fair with everryone who cheated because their parents knows but rob parents doesn't so he would not get into all the trouble others got into. secod of all, if they would tell his parents then they would be more secure for him so he dosn't do sucha thing ever again such as running away from the house or anything. and at last i would say that if they tell his parents on him then they can make him realize that what he did was wrong
I don't think they should tell the family personally because they would go and ask the other family of which told them about this and ask if they had anything t do with it and the family will go to conclusions and think that Sarah and Katie got them into this trouble. So it would be better off telling someone else that's not involved in the problem so it wouldn't become in to a big fuss.
If I were them I would just get Dan to send the message to Sarah's phone Sarah accidentally leaves it at Rob's house they check the emails and it goes off all easy and such for all of them and might give them time to check if Rob was actually dead.
@ wario well no, i guess not but i think they do have the guts to tell their parents that he is missing and they can also tell them that he would be seriously hurt, and dying with hunger
@wario good point because at some point his dad will realize that his son is scared if what I'm ( Rob's dad ) going to do and he would also be scared about the consequences.
@Anurag But since he's telling the truth wouldn't his parents have sympathy for him telling the truth. And that would compensate for the anger that they are so called raged with. What do you think?
@ jan101 robs parents called katie to ask if they had any idea of what happened so katie should tell them and katie telling them what happened would be helping not interfering. also as master chief said robs parents have the right to know, and sooner or later they would have found out, because he is suspended.
@Blossom , Yes but they were best freinds until Grade 2 so she worries but i agree she shouldnt tell because when the school principal finds out wouldnt be tell...??
@PrincessPeach You would get in trouble as well if you don't tell Rob's parents what happens if Rob really did die of hunger and you waited for weeks, then you would be responsible of his death. Wouldn't you rather have him alive and in trouble or dead and you in trouble and suffer the loss of a friend
@Princess Peach!!!! If You Wait that long he would probably be dead and thats too long and youre going to be stuck with the guilt and you just rather not tell his parents
@Wario Telling someone that their child is dead isn't something to fear about I think it is personally something to think about in a way to tell them so they don't get them in trouble.
@sana u r right but if rob doesn't want his mom to be worry about him then y did he ran away?? i think that they should tell on him,even if they will get worry but still atleast they would get moe secure about him and they would try that he doesn't do this again.
@Toadette,Yes thats why the principal could tell right because Rob would have felt worser if his former freind told (Katie)I think that woudl hurt him more even throught both ways he would haave to face his dad.
another fact, ~integrity` would come in. doing the right thing is to tell what had happened(chetaing on the mid-term) no one knows if hes dead katie just has a feeling hes dead.
In my opinion I think that they shouldn't tell Rob's parents .They shouldn't interfere because Rob never went home for a reason but Katie and Sarah don't know that but if Rob wanted to tell his parents wouldn't he have already got a phone call home from the principal?? Really it's none of Sarah's and Katie's business because they have nothing to do with all of this...they should just stay out of it before they get in big trouble god knows what can come their way. I also think that they shouldn't tell because then Rob's parents will lose trust in Rob. Everyone's parent want to hear the truth not out of someone else but out of their own child they don't need someone else to come and tell them what had happened at school after that if Rob does show up at home his parents wont let him go anywhere without parent supervision because he hid this from them so they might think what else they could be hiding....Sarah and Katie shouldn't say anything because they can get themselves stuck in this situation and if that were me I wouldn't want that to happen.
If it were me I would but also wouldn't tell Rob's parents. By that I mean like not to say anything about this incident to his parents but if Rob is missing for more than 2-3 weeks I would go and tell his parents straight because this tiny thing can lead to bigger things and i wouldn't want that to happen.Also I wouldn't tell because I wouldn't want someone to lose trust in their own son or daughter just because of me.
This issue (Rob going missing) has nothing to do with Sarah and Katie its between Rob , trust, and his parents
@Vinay I understand they should do that because if his dad knows that robs scared of him he might go easy on him or if his dad tries anything his mom would save her Little boy from the danger of a violent parent
I think Rob would rather be in a home then a sewer, he might be at a phase where he just doesnt want to face his dad and if he is found he'll regret making the problem worse, because maybe his dad is so strict that he would be really mad that he tried to run away from a punishment.
@Wario They won't have more clues but they are more likely to have a better understanding of the situation. Which then in turn could lead to clues of the whereabouts of Rob. But, what kind of clues could lead to where Rob is?
@mario Yes I think that they should tell his parents and also not as I said in my first comment because what if he really needs help because in the book Rob said that he was really hungry and no one was even looking at him to try and help him or give him some money to make a phone call.
@ donna i agree. i think that rob is making the situation worse, and he is hungry, so he would rather be at home with food and face the consequence rather than starving to death.
Princess Daisy So You're saying its okay for them to know important stuff and let him die it makes no sense you're supposedly a nice person but is willing to let Rob die for something as small ass cheating and let his Fear get to him 1 life that could be saved by you hasn't because its "None of you're business"

Like think about it if you go and tell Rob's parents and then they go and tell the police they will think you know more about this and they will like "take you down" as in keep on asking you the same thing trying to get the truth out when there is no more truth
@thamil I think his dads one of the people that make there child hard so his dad goes really hard on him. Do you think it's think it okay for them not to tell Robs parents ?

@Matercheif: But then telling about him cheating has nothing to do with finding Rob. If they tell or not what would it matter Katie and Sarah think Rob is dead they have no idea where he is or anything all they know is he got in trouble for cheating......
@Aloo But why should anyone else not come and tell his parents? Why not? If your parents are worried sick about the whereabouts of your child, why wouldn't they want free information on their child? Its not like they have to pay for it. Put your self in Rob's shoes, Rob's parents shoes.

@Thamil good point because maybe if you wait too long he could be dead by then but what I mean is you should at least wait a day or two and try to find out where he is and if he's okay and then when you have at least a little information about his whereabouts then you can inform his parents but if you don't then you should immediatly tell his parents because you wouldn't want the guilt of him being dead stuck in you.
I don't think they should tell Rob's parents about the exam. That's between his parents and him and they're not really in a place to get involved. Don't Rob's parents already know about hiim cheating because Mr. Chen already called his house?
I probably wouldn't tell Rob's parents. I'd think about it, but stop because I don't want to get involved.
@tutty: ok if im worried sick i would want to know some information on WHERE my child is not what my child has done and if its good or bad, right now that wont matter to me because my child could be in danger god know where he is ....so if they tell or not what does that have to do with where Rob has gone.... right now i don't care why he would be gone i want to know where he is gone ...does that make any sense to you?

Also people are asking me like when will they come and tell the truth when Rob is dead but the only thing i don't get is how does Katie and Sarah telling Rob's parents that he cheated on his mid term going to find Rob?? It makes no sense to me am i the only one??

i think tht they should tell on him first of all, its gonna be fair with everryone who cheated because their parents knows but rob parents doesn't so he would not get into all the trouble others got into.

and at last i would say that if they tell his parents on him then they can make him realize that what he did was wrong
I don't think they should tell the family personally because they would go and ask the other family of which told them about this and ask if they had anything t do with it and the family will go to conclusions and think that Sarah and Katie got them into this trouble. So it would be better off telling someone else that's not involved in the problem so it wouldn't become in to a big fuss.
ReplyDeleteIf I were them I would just get Dan to send the message to Sarah's phone Sarah accidentally leaves it at Rob's house they check the emails and it goes off all easy and such for all of them and might give them time to check if Rob was actually dead.
i think that if sarah says no for telling robs parents, katie should still because she knows its the right thing to do.

@wario good point because at some point his dad will realize that his son is scared if what I'm ( Rob's dad ) going to do and he would also be scared about the consequences.

@ jan101 robs parents called katie to ask if they had any idea of what happened so katie should tell them and katie telling them what happened would be helping not interfering. also as master chief said robs parents have the right to know, and sooner or later they would have found out, because he is suspended.

Wouldn't you rather have him alive and in trouble or dead and you in trouble and suffer the loss of a friend

@Wario Telling someone that their child is dead isn't something to fear about I think it is personally something to think about in a way to tell them so they don't get them in trouble.

In my opinion I think that they shouldn't tell Rob's parents .They shouldn't interfere because Rob never went home for a reason but Katie and Sarah don't know that but if Rob wanted to tell his parents wouldn't he have already got a phone call home from the principal?? Really it's none of Sarah's and Katie's business because they have nothing to do with all of this...they should just stay out of it before they get in big trouble god knows what can come their way. I also think that they shouldn't tell because then Rob's parents will lose trust in Rob. Everyone's parent want to hear the truth not out of someone else but out of their own child they don't need someone else to come and tell them what had happened at school after that if Rob does show up at home his parents wont let him go anywhere without parent supervision because he hid this from them so they might think what else they could be hiding....Sarah and Katie shouldn't say anything because they can get themselves stuck in this situation and if that were me I wouldn't want that to happen.
ReplyDeleteIf it were me I would but also wouldn't tell Rob's parents. By that I mean like not to say anything about this incident to his parents but if Rob is missing for more than 2-3 weeks I would go and tell his parents straight because this tiny thing can lead to bigger things and i wouldn't want that to happen.Also I wouldn't tell because I wouldn't want someone to lose trust in their own son or daughter just because of me.
This issue (Rob going missing) has nothing to do with Sarah and Katie its between Rob , trust, and his parents
@Vinay I understand they should do that because if his dad knows that robs scared of him he might go easy on him or if his dad tries anything his mom would save her Little boy from the danger of a violent parent
ReplyDeleteI think Rob would rather be in a home then a sewer, he might be at a phase where he just doesnt want to face his dad and if he is found he'll regret making the problem worse, because maybe his dad is so strict that he would be really mad that he tried to run away from a punishment.

@mario Yes I think that they should tell his parents and also not as I said in my first comment because what if he really needs help because in the book Rob said that he was really hungry and no one was even looking at him to try and help him or give him some money to make a phone call.

@Janat Even I think that he should of went home and faced the consequences of getting in trouble for cheating because at least he wouldn't get in as much trouble as he would now since he ran away from the problem
ReplyDelete@Thamil good point because maybe if you wait too long he could be dead by then but what I mean is you should at least wait a day or two and try to find out where he is and if he's okay and then when you have at least a little information about his whereabouts then you can inform his parents but if you don't then you should immediatly tell his parents because you wouldn't want the guilt of him being dead stuck in you.
I don't think they should tell Rob's parents about the exam. That's between his parents and him and they're not really in a place to get involved. Don't Rob's parents already know about hiim cheating because Mr. Chen already called his house?
