Rebound 23 - The Mall

David and Sean are heading to the mall, what do you think is going to happen?  Post your thoughts and comment on others.

  1. I think that Sean will not want to go to the mall with the wheelchair. I think that David will make him do it since he wanted it. I also think that David will teach Sean something every important.

  2. I think Sean is going to be very embaressed at the mall. I also think Sean is going to have a very hard time getting around and wonders how David does it.

    ReplyDelete
  3. I think that he will tell him to try to live how he lives he tells him to go down the stairs and Sean will trip down the stairs fall and get injured. That way Sean will end up in the wheelchair and David will have the will to walk again and the story will go "vice-versa".

    ReplyDelete
  4. I also think that he will never forget about this and that keep this in mind when he looks at David or someone else.

  5. I think Sean will have many struggles going to the mall while in a wheelchair because this is his first day living David's life, this will give Sean an experience that he'll never forget. David made Sean go on his spare wheelchair because he wanted Sean to better understand and know how it's like to be him.

  6. I think that when David and Sean go to the mall people will either make fun of Sean or they will be questioning Sean a lot as in what happened to you and maybe then Sean will get the same treatment David got (a aw i feel so sorry for you treatment).Sean might start liking it and will want to stay in the wheel chair. Sean’s going to think its easy being in a wheel chair its really fun but only for certain things not everything is easy and that’s for the reason David put Sean in a wheel chair.

  7. i think that sean goes to the mall with david, and sees people staring at htem, and starts feeling awkward.
sean will try hiding and blending into the crowd, but cant because his wheelchair makes it hard for him to blend in to the crowd.
i also think that someone from their school, maybe scott, will see them and sean will be embarased and will think that scott and everyone will make fun of sean.
then, sean will try running away.

    ReplyDelete
  8. I think that when Sean goes to the mall he will get hurt because he thinks he mastered the wheel chair but David had a tone which sounded like a dobt to me. I think that when Sean goes up the ramp, some one will laugh at him just like those highschool kids did to David and then Sean will see David's perspective on a daily basis. And Sean will show empathy and will have more respect for him.

    ReplyDelete
  9. @Olga I also think Sean will learn a very valuable lesson from this experience

    ReplyDelete
  10. i think that sean will be feeling okward because everyone will be looking at him and then maybe sean will know how david feels everyday being looked at everyday non stop

also i think david and sean will find scott nick and gavin.

    ReplyDelete
  11. i think when david crosses the street he doesnt wait for the cars so hes going to tell sean to do the same thing and that sean going to see scott nick and gavin and something is going to happen.

    ReplyDelete
  12. @Donna
Me too, but do you think that he will walk again?

    ReplyDelete
  13. @gum machine
    what will david teach sean.

    ReplyDelete
  14. @ Malav don't you think that David has Sean's back if anybody makes fun of him?

    ReplyDelete
  15. @Aqib,Abeeshan,Malav indeed sean will get embarassed but I think he will be more concerned about his safety.

    ReplyDelete
  16. i think that Sean will go to the mall in the wheelchair with David and is going to learn how difficult it to be in a wheelchair. I think when he goes to the mall with David people are going to look at him and feel sorry for him like they always do to David

    ReplyDelete
  17. @gum machine: Yes Sean might not want to go but can David really force him to go because if someone doesn’t want to go they shouldn’t be forced and then do you think because Sean doesn’t want to go he will get into a fight with David? Because the reason I think is Sean doesn’t want to go is because he doesn’t want to be embarrassed?

    ReplyDelete
  18. @ am 17
I think that David will teach Sean a lesson. Like that He will remember how hard it was for him to roll the chair and how to move it at all.

    ReplyDelete
  19. @tushar
do you think that a good friend of sean will make sean injured and it might cost him the spot on the team.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I think David is going back to the stairs that he said he fell off of and give it another try to get down while Sean is going to the elevator and then the people at the mall are going to treat Sean differently because he's now in a wheelchair to see whats life like as David.

    ReplyDelete
  21. @ tushar what safety will he be consirned about? He says he has controll and has mastered the chair right?

    ReplyDelete
  22. @WordNerd I agree i think that he might run into Scott and Scott is going to start mocking them and making fun.

    ReplyDelete
  23. @Olga Nope, due to what we learned in science

    ReplyDelete
  24. i think that Sean will not know how to go upa ramp and i think seanwill fall down and break an arm or something

    ReplyDelete
  25. @ Neha
That too, but we all know that David is very aggressive and does not like it to go someone else's way.

    ReplyDelete
  26. @olga
do you think that this lesson is a good or bad lesson.

    ReplyDelete
  27. @Shelby: not everyone will be sorry for him because some kids as in the teens might make fun of him and then Sean gives up! He leaves and goes home because he doesn’t like it. So do you think Sean will realize how David really feels while he’s in a wheel chair?

    ReplyDelete
  28. @GumMachine what do you think David is going to teach him?

    ReplyDelete
  29. @Gum machine What do you think will happen in the mall?

    ReplyDelete
  30. @am 17
I think that this is a VERY GOOD lesson. I would do it myself if i was in that situation.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I think that when Sean gets to the mall he will be embarrased with the wheelchair. He's probably thinking, "who needs a wheelchair when you have legs?". David will probably see what he's going through but he'll ignore it. Maybe when David got his wheelchair he went through the same emotions, but since they're both in a wheelchair he might be in the slightest bit of comfortableness. People will stare at them and he'll feel the same way he did at the dance. David on the other hand will feel delighted that Seans along, because he's never had anyone like him with him. And when they go to buy the gift for Sean's mom, the lady will say something to Sean that will offend him, and Sean will just be shocked. Angry, Sad, Offended Sean will have nothing to say because of all the emotions. But, David will say "now you understand me". And from that point on Sean and David will have that respect for eachother.

    ReplyDelete
  32. @shelby
would david feel okward about everyone looking at him or do you think he would like the attention.

    ReplyDelete
  33. @Aqib I don't think he'll MAKE HIM injured but is telling him to go in the wheelchair to the mall because he wants him to feel what he feels
I just think of what David is telling him of the dangers of a wheelchair so he will be mindful of that and karma will have a affect on him.

    ReplyDelete
  34. @ Lisa
I think that Sean will be very like embarrassed that he will be there in a wheelchair and that he will try to get out of there as soon as possible.
    What do you think?

    ReplyDelete
  35. I also think Sean will respect David more because he sees all the stuggles he goes through but doesn't bring up.

    ReplyDelete
  36. @Malav Good prediction, maybe scott nick and gavin might catch them at the mall and start making fun and laughing at sean.....maybe this will even turn into a fight

    ReplyDelete
  37. @ abeeshan
even if david does have his back, does sean being embarased change?
i am pretty sure sean's main reason he doesnt want to go to the mall is that he doesnt want anyone looking at him in a wheelchair.
even at david's drivway. sean was so relieved that no one saw him in a wheelchair.

    @ tushar
what do you mean his safety?

    ReplyDelete
  38. @ Shelby
He will teach him to not judge people and that he should not make fun of people in a wheelchair. Even if he doesn't do that I think that he is still thinking it in his head.

    ReplyDelete
  39. @GUMMACHINE :But then will Sean do what David says or will he back off . I get they are friends but still if it were me I would do the same would you?

    ReplyDelete
  40. @tushar
so do you think that karma will hit sean

also what karma are you talking about.

    ReplyDelete
  41. @ Nicole I agree with you because Sean has always cared for him and he doesn't want people to care for him in a different way because he wanted to be treated normally, so then Sean will respect him and treat him like a normal human being.

    ReplyDelete
  42. @TheSauceBoss I agree, David must have gone the same emotions as Sean is right now.

    ReplyDelete
  43. @malav i mean his safety because he is not so good on the ramps so when he's going up or down the stairs he will be careful of the dangers he can face from what david sad.

    ReplyDelete
  44. @ am17 I think that since this is his first time he will feel awkward instead of liking the attention. By the way I think he would pay attention to the gift he was to by for his mom.

    ReplyDelete
  45. @Olga well he might meet up with scott and his boys!

    ReplyDelete
  46. i think david and sean are going to have trouble going around the mall mostly sean because he his new to the wheelchair. so i think when ever people say somthing to them they will say it in a way that david hate.so that will make sean realize why david does certain things or why he bahave a certain way.

    ReplyDelete
  47. @tabish
do you think that david is the guy that ignores things.

    ReplyDelete
  48. @Neha yes, i do think Sean will realize how it really feels, i think Sean is going to be more empathetic towards David

    ReplyDelete
  49. @ shelby of course.
and especially since scott lost to david and sean, scott will be very pleased that he can mock them, and embaress them.
(mostly sean because david wont really care much, but will stick up for sean).

    @ donna
    a fight could happen.
and sean said nick and gavin arent the type of people who like fighting much, so i think they are weaker, and wont fight a lot so sean and david will mostly only have to worry about scott, and im pretty sure sean and david will win.

    ReplyDelete
  50. The craziest prediction just hit me, what if sean was so bad at moving around in the wheelchair that he might get into an accident, what if the same thing that happened to david will happen to sean!

    ReplyDelete
  51. @BaconStrips Yes, he will treat him more equal because Sean lived and witness his everyday struggles.

    ReplyDelete
  52. @am17 i think Sean is going to find it awkward because he is not used to seeing everyone looking at him

    ReplyDelete
  53. @Aqib i was thinking of the karma when you think of somebody differently because of their skin colour.
@Abeeshan Sean knew David was in complete sarcasm.

    ReplyDelete
  54. @abeeshan
i am trying to say do you think that sean will like some random people hospitilizing him.

    ReplyDelete
  55. @ am17 I think that Karma will hit him and he might be not able to play basketball. Next, both SEan and David will play wheel chair basketball becaus e after the karma he will be really in a wheelchair.

    ReplyDelete
  56. @WordNerd ya i think that would be Scott's way of getting back at both Sean and David for beating him

    ReplyDelete
  57. @ tushar
    oh okay.
well, that is something quite obvious since david had warned him about watching his fingers at the garage.

    ReplyDelete
  58. I think now Sean would feel how David feels all the time about being in a weheel-chair and how his everyday life is.How he always gets the looks from people who are sorry for him- sympathy
looks. Also i dont think Sean would ever forget his experience and now he would really know how it fells

    ReplyDelete
  59. @shelby
alright then sean won't like being the center of attention.

    ReplyDelete
  60. @aqib sorry i meant aperrance.

    ReplyDelete
  61. @? I don't think David is going to have trouble at the mall since he is already used to the wheelchair

    ReplyDelete
  62. @Donna, thats also possible. But I don't think he'll get into a major accident. Sean was getting the hang of operating a wheelchair in the text so he is getting good at it. He could also make a mistake and your dilema can occur.

    ReplyDelete
  63. @ malav ofcoarse he will be embarrased what im trying to say is that if some one makes fun of him David is capable of supporting him.

    ReplyDelete
  64. @ donna
    could happen. you never know.
but remember sean was pretty good at handling the wheelchair at the garage, but it could be a different situation with people aroung him.

    ReplyDelete
  65. @abeeshan
NO i do not think that david would do something that sean will hate because sean already made the team.

    ReplyDelete
  66. *feels
@? I agree because now sean would be able to feel hoe david has to go through to everyday. He would actually now know how it feels to be in an wheelchair and all its difficulties

    ReplyDelete
  67. @Nicole Most likely it wont happen, just a crazy thought i had

    ReplyDelete
  68. @ Shelby I disagree to your comment to ? because David did say he fell off the stair at the mall and that's how he got he got those cuts.

    ReplyDelete
  69. @ abeeshan
yes david would and will support sean

    ReplyDelete
  70. @Aqib
That's a very tough question. I really think that David isn't the guy that likes to ignore things. Remember when the teacher pushed his chair, what did he do?. DId he ignore it. He could've but he didn't. Instead he chose to explode at her. He definately didn't hold back there. And when he got the catch that Lisa felt sorry for him, he kinda went off on her. I know we don't know that much about that situation. But he did explode alot. So no David isn't the type of person that ignores things.

    ReplyDelete
  71. @tushar
but do you think that sean cares about david in a wheelchair.

    ReplyDelete
  72. @ am17 not on purpose but accident.

    ReplyDelete
  73. @Donna, that is possible but i dont think david will let thatb happen because hes been in a wheel-shair for a year i think and hes probaly used to it now. Also David is giving him tips how to be in a wheel-chair.

    ReplyDelete
  74. @Deadmau5, ohh. Its still possible though.

    ReplyDelete
  75. @tabish
"David will probably see what he's going through but he'll ignore it."
so know do you think that he will ignore it.

    ReplyDelete
  76. @aqib i completely do because of him stuttering in sentences he asks about his wheelchair.

    ReplyDelete
  77. @ Bacon Strips he said that he only fell of his chair once so most likely he's learned from his experience and wont have difficulties and remember he is still able to do many things when he is in a wheelchair

    ReplyDelete
  78. @Aqib sorry
When SEAN pushed his chair he got mad.

    ReplyDelete
  79. @Malav But what if going to that mall is less complicated then rolling around on the driveway
    @Nicole True

    ReplyDelete
  80. @tushar
maybe it is because sean thought this was unexpected.

    ReplyDelete
  81. @Aqib or maybe he thinks that David will go in rage right then.

    ReplyDelete
  82. HAHAHA dubstep lover, call me ElectroLover

    ReplyDelete
  83. @Malav *is more complicated
@Janat hmm, so your thinking that david is responsible for sean in this case, makes sense.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Very clever predictions, and very active blogging period.

I don't see this going very well, and that's probably best for Sean, in the long run.

We will find out what obstacles the boys run into.

    ReplyDelete
  85. I thinnk that sean would not want to go in a wheel chair but david will convince him to go wih him. When they will reach there everyone will treat sean differently (maybe someOne will move his chair around or something anf he will feel like he is sitting in a stroller Or people will talk to him loud and slowly just like they talk to david) sean will feel really wierd and would want to get rid of it as soon as Possible. By sean's this experience sean will learn allot more about david and what he goes through everyday.

    ReplyDelete
  86. yeah, Tehreem, glad you have come back to the blog!

    ReplyDelete
  87. @pizza
I agree, people might treat Sean differently when they seehim in a chair. Then Sean might feel how akward and annoyed David does when people treat him differently. Do you think Sean will treat David differently after a day in a wheelchair?

    ReplyDelete
  88. @ nicole i think that sean will treat him the way he treats other people after a day that he spent in a wheel chair because then, he will find out how does that feels to be in a wheel chair.

    ReplyDelete
  89. @Nicole and Tehreem, is this why David put Sean in a chair? so he (Sean) would treat him (David) differently?

    ReplyDelete
  90. As well, good to see you look at the blog over the weekend Nicole.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Wow, awesome predictions, I didnt think about the whole reason why david wanted to take sean out in public while in wheelchairs. The main reason is so sean can experience more then just struggles on moving around in a wheelchair, but experience the way people treat him, the way david gets treated everyday of his life.
    Its pronounced Dead Mouse :D

    ReplyDelete
  92. But in the story, sean (from the very beginning) didnt treat david differently from others, (thats the reason why david is friends with him) because he doesnt really feel sorry for him but he does have some understanding in what it feels like to be david. so this experience wont make much of a difference in sean's behaviour towards david. This "mall experiment" should've be done with david and someone like scott. (someone who doesnt understand at all what its like to be david)

As Mr.Cheney said, sean is a character that symbolises us "normal" people.
But scott or one of the high school kids are characters that symbolises most of us middle school kids, because most of us will make fun of someone like david without even knowing it.

    ReplyDelete
  93. great comments Donna, Sean does indeed represent us, and so does Scott, Nick, and Gavin.

Scott could indeed learn a lot from David, as we sometimes need to be taught something that we know very little about.

    ReplyDelete
  94. @Donna, i agree In the beginning of the book, Sean didn't treat david differently thats why he punched david back too when he hit him.

@Pizza , yes Sean would learn alot more about what david goes through everyday and he night have a bigger understanding of it now.

    ReplyDelete
  95. @ Mr Cheney
I agree, but sometimes you can do a lot with something we don't know about

    ReplyDelete
  96. @DupstepLover ya who are you? I think it's olga because i don't see anymore GumMachine so ya lol

    ReplyDelete
  97. I think Sean will go and he'll get to experiance a new life he'll see how it feels to be David for a day and go through his everyday life. Sean will see everyone staring at him and giving him the "sweet look". Sean will learn how it feels to be treated differently than others ( in other words differently means like being treated better than " normal" people

    ReplyDelete
  98. @ donna
it isnt less complicated because sean is afraid of people staring at him, and he doesnt know how to go around in the wheelchair, and today's read aloud proves my point.
the lady pulled sean out of the elevator, and people kept looking at him.

    P.S sorry this is late...
