 Pearl Harbor:

  1. I think that the one in Berlin. I think that one because it looks like the one that is the most destructive one. Even if all of them show that it is destroyed. Also it looks like the one of the Battle of Britain is painted and not so real.

  2. I think the Berlin one because it looks to me that it is just a empty place. It seems like the war was very intense. Like as soon as the war was over that nobody has realised that the place is no more. Nobody is there. Only the dead bodies. The other pictures seems as they were painted by someone. So they don't look that realistic.

  3. i can't decide between the pearl harbor and berlin.i chose berlin because it looks realistic because i think after a war all the building would be burn down and be a reck.in addition that city would be empty without anything but black smoke because nobody would wanna live there.due to the fact that there is no proper place to live.i chose pearl harbor because i could actually see bombs exploding in the background which looks something that happens in war.due to the fact that i saw this moive i think it was called d-day and remembering it showing a scene that looked similar to that.

  4. @Legit-Blackcobra325 it may be a painting butonce you zoom in it actualy has pretty good detail and give you nice idea about how war was like.

  5. i think all of these pictures are powerful because they all are showing what war was like with great detail.in additon all of these images repersent battles that were important to history. All of these images make me feel appreciate the sacrifices because the pearl harbor and battle of britain show how war was fought and the berlin one shows that what happened after a war.

  6. I think the one that sais Pearl Habour. I say this because you can see explsions at the back and you can also see smoke coming out from the back, this shows how gruesome the war would have been. That whole area must have been destroyed by the explosions. This picture had detail and is realistic

@Donna, and Anurag ( and Sana ) Even though it is a painting it still shows some detail and the picture (berlin) shows planes that might have been used in war and you can also see smoke coming out from behind the planes so I would have this picture as my second pick.

  7. @sana that's very true all of these pictures ARE detalied and powerful. Pearl Harbour and the Battle of the Britains shows how war was fought and how there were explosions everwhere and Berlin shows what happened after war

  8. I can't really chose between Battle of Britain and Pearl Harbor. But i do think that the Pearl Harbor was the really destroyed one. This is because you can see smoke and explosions in the background. The picture was really detailed and realistic.

    ReplyDelete
  9. @eden yea u can see that in the background there's smoke and explosions which might have destroyed the land and I thought it was very detailed and realistic and the most destructive one out of all pistures but I would say Battle of Britains was also very destructive and was also detailed but not so much of releaisitic like you can see it's a painting because painting's just have another texture that is easy to recongnize than actual picture taken.

    ReplyDelete
  10. @me myself and i agree with you because just because it is painted dosen't mean it is not real

    ReplyDelete
  11. @Sonali, yeah pearl Harbor looks more realistic than Battle Of Britain. Battle Of Britain doesn't even look realistic it looks more like a painting.

@Mr.Cheney, Nichole told me to come tomorrow for basketball at 8:00 in the morning.

  12. The last one the pearl of harbor because it actually shows war things happening in side of the picture, the other ones just have 3 planes flying that doesn't mean anything and the other one it's just a picture of a town or something the last one shows blasts and stuff going on so I think the last one.

    ReplyDelete
  13. i think Pearl Harbor because it just reinforces how bad the war was, and how much people got killed, just fighting for people they didn't even know. With this picture I am able to appreciate the sacrifices that these many soldiers made for me and everyone else

    ReplyDelete
  14. I think pearl harbour because its shows the bomb exploding and the smoke everywhere. It shows that places was destoyed and ruined like in the second picture there is a city but its ruined and no living thing in there. It shows alot of meaning in those two pictures and how much was lost in that war.(People,Places, and Soliders)

    ReplyDelete
  15. @Vinay why do you think this picture is so powerful and how does it impact you?

    ReplyDelete
  16. @shelby the one with the picture of planes I think has some war going on in the back round

    ReplyDelete
  17. @shelby because it shows so much blasts going on and the other ones don't and a lot of people are dying for me and everyone else.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I think that pear is the most powerful to me.As there in the pictures shows what had happened and how greatly it impacted Berlin and impacted the world. It also showed us that what hapend was greatly terrifying and shocking. As Mr.Cheney said it lets us appreciate what the soldiers have done for us.

  19. wow great too see you back on the blog Eden and welcome to Vinay!!!

yes girls basketball at 8 00 am, Roden will do attendance and run drills, I'm at a leadership meeting.

I like the Battle of Britain one because it is art. The fighting in the foreground with smoke and fire blasts in the background, and in the far distance the London bridge

I like the Berlin picture because it could be anywhere and anytime, and thus the image goes beyond the boundaries of the Second world War and reminds the viewer that total war is total destruction.

I like the pearl Harbor one because is the front is a lovely tree, swaying in the breeze, it very peaceful, but then in the background amidst the peace is the sudden destructiveness of war.

  20. i think pearl habor has alittle bit ot much of smoke in a small area but it still looks realistic.

  21. @Malav, Tulsi, Sonali, sure or unsure about the AGO trip?

    ReplyDelete
  22. @cheney hello when do we have to give in the trip forms ?

    ReplyDelete
  23. i think the berlin one is the most powerful image to me because it looks like an empty baren wasteland, and it looks comepletely deserted with broken buildings.

it shows how hundreds, if not thousands of innocent lives were lost. this is very cruel to bomb and destroy cities to help you win a war.

@ mr cheney i wrote more about my explaination and what i think, but then all of it got deleted because i tried viewing the picture bigger to see more closer detail

    ReplyDelete
  24. @sana ya it's still a painting but it still has some facts behind it.........

@eden like I said even though Battle of Britain is a painting it still has details and facts and it also shows what happened during war

@shelby yea we all appreciate what the soldiers did for us they sacrificed ther whole lives for us........... wow

@mr.cheney im not going i changed my mind :) and my mom signed the yes part when i told her i'll make up my mind later..........( parents lol)

    ReplyDelete
  25. @ mr cheney im still unsure, but i will most likely be a yes...
is it okay if we bring it in late?

    ReplyDelete
  26. @malav that happened to me to make sure you copy it first before you look at the picture closer ( i learned that the hard way)

    ReplyDelete
  27. @ malav but the trip is on wedsnesday nov.9

    ReplyDelete
  28. @ Malav, yes you can send it in late, but late is Tuesday,

@Sonali, yes it seems team 7 is almost all out on this Trip! Just Eden I think! It will be like teaching a straight grade again!

  29. I will go with the battle of Britain because it really shows who is involved in the war and how does it look like while the war is on. For ex. Not only were the people on grounds fighting they weren’t the only ones in this battle so were the people in the helicopter/planes. Those people also risked their lives and gave time to their country and fought in the battle. Another example would be the view of showing how it really looks likes bombs being exploded gunshot being shot across and so much smoke which might have made it hard for the helicopter/planes pilots to fly. So I find it better than the other pictures because there is ACTION. And I tend to understand better with action because its make it interesting it’s not just a picture of building with no roofs, or just a lake with tree and smoke. I find there is more to this picture then just the picture because of all the views around the person is able to predict properly because if someone knows very less knowledge about world war what are they going to see in the other pictures just buildings with no roofs anything could have happened..Maybe urban planners are decided to change roofs of the whole city anything in peoples mind can be guessed but in this picture it shows it’s powerful. People will be guessing it seems like war how they guessed that because there are people shooting smoke all over helicopter/planes in the air. In this picture is what describes it all.

  30. @mr.cheney: you seem excited but arent u gonna go on this trip? because i don't want to be in home room i want to go to another class a grade 1 class and help the teachers out.

    ReplyDelete
  31. @Neha, good to see you back and blogging, two if you are not going and its a large group you indeed likely will be kept intact as a middle school class.

    ReplyDelete
  32. The picture of Berlin, Germany is the most powerful to me because it's showing basically the aftermath of a bombing. Its realistic and detailed, more than the other pictures. Battle of Britain and Pearl Harbor seem a little silly, they look like their from a picture book or comic book for younger kids. Berlin helps me better understand and appreciate remembrance day because it makes me think about the people who were victims, how they felt, how they had to live. And as well the people who had to make tough choices to bomb Berlin, to make the people of their country live a better life.

  33. as it is at the moment there are more not going on the trip then are going.

    ReplyDelete
  34. @Mr.Cheney: yea i know it feels good to be blogging again its been a long time except i blogged on Friday.and NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! there are alot of gd.7s not going im not so sure though cuz we are saving up for albion hills also we all are going back home during winter or after so we are saving up for then too

  36. @mr.cheney wo we won't be able to help out because alot of students from our class aren't going I think the trip might as well be canceled than because there's about 5-10 people who said yes for sure or even less or more im not sure lol

    ReplyDelete
  37. @Deadmau 5 yes it does bring a very realistic feel to it because the other pictures just show nothing there's not a story line in one picture on the other pictures. But do you think there is anything missing from this picture to make it MORE realistic? i would say no because i think almost everything is covered but i would definitively add people not far back in the picture but more close up in action..agree?

    ReplyDelete
  38. battle of Britain seems the most powerful to me because it shows how the jets are flying and there is smoke at the back and a battle is going on.
i feel really sad for the people who had to go through all of the struggle, loose their relatives and got homeless because of this war.
i appreciate the sacrifices and realities of this War because it shows how the soldiers sacrifices their whole lives to save their country

    ReplyDelete
  39. @Sonali: yes because i find there are more grade 7's than 8's i find this a hard decision to make because my mom says its not about the money i will give you as much as you need but as a kid i need to worry about it.Money don't grow on trees we have to use it but wisely its not something to fool around with. Also the science trip is $15.00 so about $30.00 spent on 2 trips plus albion hills and then if for the winter going on any vacation. Its alot

    ReplyDelete
  40. @pizza: you said u feel said for the people that died but dose this powerful picture really show people died? after posting my comment i thought about that because it shows bombs are exploding but i dont seem to see any people in action. i find it a very powerful picture too. If a person with no knowledge about world war think about how puzzled they would be

    ReplyDelete
  41. @sonali, indeed it does. That what i was saying too.

    ReplyDelete
  42. @Neha that is true. This year there's more trips and there more expensive. But i will be attending the AGO my mom signed the form and gave me money.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Yeah, Tehreem, back to the blog,

Sonali and Neha, you should be mindful of the words you use to describe this trip and your dislike of homeroom. Its no problem to not go, and you do not need to justify it, saying "im not going" is all that is needed. Its unfortunate you dislike homeroom and were bored the first time on the trip but you should keep those thoughts to yourself.

    ReplyDelete
  44. @Neha That would be very realistic but it would be something really sad, do you mean people close up in action as in a person being killed from a bombing?

    ReplyDelete
  45. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  46. @Mr.Cheney: im really sorry i should have used words properly i dont dislike it , because its boring i don't dislike it at all umm im really trying to say is i want to go to another class for a change

    ReplyDelete
  47. @Dead Mau5: no not in that way but they can have like someone dead or lying on the ground just to have that feel

    ReplyDelete
  48. does anyone know the question that goes with the daivd sean and ur self diagram?

    ReplyDelete
  49. @vinay it's why is it important that you have similiarities with the characters?

    ReplyDelete
  50. @ vinay
The Venn Diagram: Add a third person to your Venn Diagram, the character can be real or fictional, ideally we want to highlight the characteristics we all share. All of us sharing multiple characteristics will demonstrate that we learn about who we are from David, and knowing David’s complexity reveals our own complexity, tapping into our lessons on perspective we can make the intellectual leap that indeed all people are complex, and thus we can appreciate and be more empathetic to the people around us. Again reiterating the power of Narrative.
    this is from the top.
we use this to write about how the venn diagram shows our complexity

    ReplyDelete
  51. @Vinay, make some conclusions from your Diagram, what does it mean that all 3 characters in your diagram share similar characteristics. Also, read the Venn diagram description on the LA part of the blog

  52. @Neha, apology is accepted, just reread what you say, its okay to not go on the trip. Just don't get caught up, accidentally, insulting the class and the trip in the process, because there are people who are looking forward to the trip and enjoy being in homeroom rather then going off to other classes.

    ReplyDelete
  53. @mr.cheney im really sorry i didn't mean to say anything negative srry :(

    ReplyDelete
  54. @Sonali, apology is accepted, the message is the same as it was for Neha, realize your comments can accidentally insult others. People going on the trip, shouldn't have to read that you think it should be cancelled.

  55. In my opinion, I think that the Berlin one was the most powerful. It was the most interesting to me when Mr.Cheney explained it today. Also comparing to the other paintings, this is the most realistic also this one looks like an actual picture. Like someone mentioned, the picture or painting looks like it has no people as if it was an empty city.

It is so hard to imagine someone giving your life for you just for your freedom in the future. Fighting for your nation or your duty to serve whatever land that your fighting for, is an indescribable amount of courage that many people can say but cannot do.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I also feel the Berlin image speaks the loudest to me. The other two images show war in action, that is what I hear most about the war. But the picture of Berlin focouses on the after effects of the war. Most people aren't aware of how much a war has an impact has on that country, even if they win the war. They are still faced with issues like bankrupty, grief and more. This image helps me appreciate that I have never faced the outcomes of war. But it also reminds me of how large the outcomes are for the citizens, the country, and the world.

    ReplyDelete
  57. @Mr.Cheney: ok yea i guess it did but again for any misunderstanding im sorry again.
