Rebound - The Final Chapter

Rebound - The Final Chapter

Hello Team,

We are now ready to finish our novel.  It has been a significantly long journey, taking the time exploring reading strategies and reviewing the power of narrative in discovering morals, purpose, and symbolism.

As well we have learned about ourselves as we have read through the events of Sean and David.  each moment revealing something about our morals and values.

Now David's fate will be revealed.  Recall how many predicted and believed that David would walk again, this is now seemingly unlikely.

What do you feel, reflect, or predict will finally happen.

  1. I think Sean will find David at the end of the cliff but David might seem a bit tensed or so because he was just told that he will never be able to walk again. I am also starting to feel that it won't happen,he won't walk. I think David was by the cliff because he just wanted to be alone and picture how it would feel and how it would have looked when he threw his wheelchair of that cliff.

  2. i highly dont think david will walk at the end of the book. unless they do some thing like 40 YEARS LATER then he would be walking but they have a high chance of not doing that.I think that sean will show david that just because hes in a wheel chair, he doesnt have to stop doing what he loves, which is basketball.Sean might persuade david to look for a wheel chair basketball team. so that he can have fun before he walks. or so he isnt deppressed

  3. @ sonali
but do you think david would get down with barely a chance to get up?also do you think he made it down safely?

    ReplyDelete
  4. @sonali
if he wanted to be alone he could have went to a basketball court, his room, or someplace else. and if your really stressed would you go down a cliff to be alone?

  5. My final thoughts are David wont be found down the cliff or near the cliff he will be around that area.Because the book is coming to an end and usually novel writers don't have a "to be continued" unless its a series which i think is not i think that David wont be able to walk again because its 1 more chapter and then that's it...the book is over.I think David being alone maybe made him think about how harsh he has been on himself and people around him, he needs to calm down and live his life the way it is.I feel that David will take the quote his mother said " If you spend too much time hoping for things that aren't you'll never accept and appreciate these moments and be able to live you life to the fullest. David will take this quote to his heart and think about it .....well for so far as i think

  6. I think that Sean will check out whatever that metal thing was shinning. I think that David will be safe and okay. Sean will be really happy also curious because if he was okay then why didn't he come to school. Sean turns everything calm and tells David that he made it to the basketball team. Sean's coach will ask if David can assist him to help coach because he saw how smart of a plan he made when he played two on two. So, David thinks about it and doesn't accept because it would bring his memories plus, it would make him sad. So the coach puts him in the wheelchair basketball team. Finally, I think that Sean and David be the bests of friends. I think this because on the cover of the ook it shows David and Sean together after or going to play basketball.
This would be a significant story to read and to write by the author.

  7. I think David won't walk in the end because of looking at the book cover which is very powerful.

    ReplyDelete
  8. @prabhjot you didn't read my comment properly I said he wanted to spend some time alone on the cliff because He wanted to picture throwing his wheelchair down the cliff and seeing himself walk again.

    ReplyDelete
  9. @abeeshan
do you think they have a wheel chair team? Also where do you think david is?

    ReplyDelete
  10. @sonali
thats not reasonable because whats the point of risking your life to picture something?and he could have done that from above too

    ReplyDelete
  11. @ abeeshan
nice thinking, i never thought of looking at the cover of the book. but it does support that he wouldent walk

    ReplyDelete
  12. @ Prabhjot
well maybe the basketball court or his room may make him feel more depressed because of old memories, since he's in a new town the cliff might be new, so, it would be a good place to be alone because there is less stress also it would be peaceful because it was empty as it said it was in the book when Sean went looking for him. So I think Sonali has a reasonable thought.

    ReplyDelete
  13. i think that david might be inside of the factory if he wants to be alone

    ReplyDelete
  14. @abeehan
it would bring memeories, but good ones because he won so many trophies

    ReplyDelete
  15. He must have some connection to a league. It may not be a school. I meant like out of school leagues. I think he just went to the mall.

    ReplyDelete
  16. @ prabhjot
But he smashed them that would remind him of his wheel chair situation, he wants to be treated normal too. I think he cant accept the fact that he is handicap but has talents like CRAZY!

    ReplyDelete
  17. @prabhjot I don't see how David is risking his life because he is only standing on the cliff and he is also thinking about how it would feel to be free from his chair. I didn't say he was like gonna jump off the cliff

@abeeshan Thanks and exactly I was about to say how the basketball court and other things may remind him of something that would cause more stress and I think the cliff was a good idea to be at because remember when they went to the mall he said he would love to push his wheelchair off the cliff or something right? Maybe he just wanted to go there for a peaceful place and also to recall all the moments Sean and him spent together and how he would have thrown his wheelchair off but ....... We'll see what happens next I CANT WAIT TO READ THE LAST CHAPTER IF REBOUND!¡!¡!¡!¡!¡

    ReplyDelete
  18. If he is just hanging out at the mall, how is that effective narrative writing?

    Doesn't that seem anti-climatic?

Recall the essential components of Narrative.

    ReplyDelete
  19. @abeeshan exactly he smashed his trophies and I don't think he would want to be at the Basketball court because that would just remind him of how he's in a wheelchair and that all his dreams are shattered.

@prabhjot I don't get why David would want to be in the warehouse? How would that help him relax and forget about all his struggles in life. I averred warehouse is abandoned and so it would be quite but I still think that it won't help him move on from his difficult life

    ReplyDelete
  20. @mr Cheney I also think that seems anti-climatic because if he wanted to be at the mall wouldn't he have called Sean too or why would he be at the mall to think about what ever happened in his life and so he can move on I don't think he would do that because the mall is noisy also that is not a good climax

    ReplyDelete
  21. I knew David wasn't going to walk again because from most T.V shows I watch the more the character believes in something it will always happen. Sean in the beginning of the book wanted to have a good start to the school year and this made me think if David wanted to walk again so badly then I wouldn't think it would happen.

I think Sean is going to find David at the bottom of the cliff because of what he said earlier in the chapter where he said that he would throw his chair down the cliff and see it tumble down until it hit the ground, I think David thought it through and knew that he wasn't going to be able to walk again.... not yet

I feel that David has though it through that not getting your legs back is a huge part of your life but you have to more on because the more you are wanting anything back the more you'll think about and the more you think about it the more you will not do much in life and not live the fullest.

    ReplyDelete
  22. @ Mr. Cheney you're right, but I think an effective narrative can have a point where one character is on the dramatic side and the other is just there for that scene. So the reader would pay attention to Sean and his feelings. And if Eric Walters wanted the reader to focus hard on Sean's perspective I think getting David out of that scene would have been the best choice. This is just like how you said about having various structures of sentences. I think it would be the same for writing chapters, you don't want the same characters in all chapters to have a good flow. But this is my opinion it can be wrong. Also, it depends on the author's choice.

    ReplyDelete
  23. i think that the cliff was probably daring david like how the escalators were daring david to go down them.

    ReplyDelete
  24. @ Belieber if there isn't another book where do you think David?

    ReplyDelete
  25. @ green ranger
If you said in tv shows mostly whatever the character believes in would happen. So according to what you said, wouldn't David get his legs back?

    ReplyDelete
  26. @ sana I never thought of that good connection.

    ReplyDelete
  27. @me myself and i
if you think david was despress because he was told that he will never be able to walk again don't you think that he would have reacted this way at the dinner table like get all mad.

    ReplyDelete
  28. @ Abeenash Yeah.. David isn't going to get his legs back.

    ReplyDelete
  29. @abeeshan good point about the author wanting the readers to learn more about Sean's Perspective and if this was the case then I also think taking David out of this scene was a good idea bëcause Now you can learn more about Sean because he is all over the place looking for David and that shows how much he really likes David as a friend.

    ReplyDelete
  30. @ ? Great though! David is a Thrill seeker and he did say it's suicide to go down there in a wheelchair, similar to the escalators.

    ReplyDelete
  31. @Sana I didn't get what you wrote?????

    ReplyDelete
  32. @ green ranger
no, I thought you meant David will not get his legs back? but didn't you say that most tv shows whatever the character believes in it will happen so if David wants his legs back, shouldn't David get his legs back he should because he wished for legs and as you said in tv shows the character gets whatever he believes in right? isn't that what you said.?

    ReplyDelete
  33. Wow we went through the book fast. I liked the part where they got into a fight and when they started becoming friends and when Sean stood up to Scott and went away and he felt good. I think that Sean will see some pieces and he can't get all the way down and he's going to run and tell David's parents and they will rush back and call the police there and when the police goes down he finds Davids body and they rush to the hospital, there David wakes up and all the people there again and Sean makes them go away because David told him everything about how he felt when he was in the hospital and he doesn't get his legs back. I really liked this book it looks like a movie if you think about it, this book taught me a lot how people feel and what happens around us in the world.

    ReplyDelete
  34. i think that david is fine, and that he may miss the dance, and is not missing.
he will come home late from being at the basketball court.

i also think that david will finaly start believing that he may not ever walk again.
he will not give up comepletely, but have more doubt.

david will also start crying again and have an explosion to sean.
i think sean will say he understands, but i think sean really doesnt, and david knows that.

    ReplyDelete
  35. @ malav Good Thought! He may start to doubt himself and think that maybe after all he won't get his legs back and also Sean understand David but it's true he won't understand How David would feel and David knows that.

    ReplyDelete
  36. @malav nice think i never thought of that but i still think he is still going to have a little hope

    ReplyDelete
  37. a return of the old and the new. Good to see old stars of the blog rejoining and new upcoming stars getting involved with the blogging.

    ReplyDelete
  38. @malav he sean will understand david better after all that he been through.

    ReplyDelete
  39. one reason is that sean doesnt understand is that he has only been in a wheelchair for about a few hours.
sean has only witnessed a small layer of what david has to go through.
the rest is much deeper, and stronger. things sean will most likely never go through.

    ReplyDelete
  40. @ sana
do you have 2 accounts, or did you just switch up your name and image?

    ReplyDelete
  41. @prabjot: going to a basketball court someone else could come and start playing basketball and it will destroy the peace....his room might remind his of the accident like a replay of it so that’s not so nice and calming...and if you think of someplace else where would that be? The author had to put some place where we already know about because they can’t just say anything it has to make sense

    ReplyDelete
  42. @abeenash: but Sean is scared because of the stories his old friends had told him he was finally able to get out and get ready to go the dance why would he want to go back to check the silver thingy?

    ReplyDelete
  43. @prabjot: do you really think by being someplace else and imaging something else. Like if it were you you might also want to say yes that is where my wheel chair will be one day it will be crashing down there while i stand here. You won’t be playing a basketball wheelchair game and say I will throw my chair down the cliff

    ReplyDelete
  44. I think David will be wandering around in the area of the cliff. I think if you want to feel the calmness you don’t want to be somewhere noisy you want to be somewhere quiet because you really want to think with a cold mind.

    ReplyDelete
  45. @sonali
in your first one you said that he was at the bottom, then changed your mind and said he was at the top of the cliff. how could being at the top because seans at the top. and even though davids wreckless, he still isnt dumb enough to go down a cliff with almostt no way back up

    ReplyDelete
  46. @sonali:prabjot has a point maybe David’s not paying attention or is about to turn around and a stone falls and then he goes falling down there too. It’s a risk unless David’s on the cliff but not right at the edge.

    ReplyDelete
  47. @Mr.Cheney:i think it seems anti-climatic because if he wanted to be at the mall he wouldn’t just be sitting on his chair in the middle of the mall or beside a bench would he......i think David would be rolling in the mall but it’s hard to concentrate where you’re going and think about one day your going to throw your wheel chair off a cliff. in a situation like this you won’t be able to think in a loud place like at the mall you can ever hardly find it quiet so it’s not such a good place to be

    ReplyDelete
  48. @neha
who said he was thinking about his wheelchair and the cliff, that was your guess the book didnt say. i think that right now he doesnt care about his wheel chair being thrown off because he has other things in his mind

    ReplyDelete
  49. @prabjot: unless David WAS at the cliff then went for a stroll to get his mind off of things

    ReplyDelete
  50. @prabjot: yes it didn't say it was my own opinion but what other relationship would he have with the cliff like why would he go there at all?? Becuase if you put the pieces together you get the clue of him the wheel chair and the cliff

    ReplyDelete
  51. @neha
since sean checked everywhere around the cliff, david would have to be at the bottom if he was there

    ReplyDelete
  52. @prabjot: but one thing i never thought of was also thinking about how he got rejected by lisa but still you wouldn't go to a place so noisy to think about either the wheel chair or lisa's rejection

    ReplyDelete
  53. @probjot: did it say he checked all around the cliff?and if yes he checked all around the cliff but what about near the path ways ? because its not right when u walk there is a cliff there is a whole forest maybe......maybe David say Sean looking for him so he hid behind a bush or something ....its not necessary hes at the bottom of the cliff and if he is how did he get down there? like by falling or walking?

    ReplyDelete
  54. @neha
true, but where else do you think he might be

    ReplyDelete
  55. @neha
if he was down, he would go like how he goes down stairs. It didnt really describe a forest but you might be right, because there are mostly alot of trees beside cliffs

    ReplyDelete
  56. umm he could be in the warehouse because no one really goes in it because its abandoned but that means no one took care of it so it might be smelly so its a 20% chance that David is in the warehouse.

    ReplyDelete
  57. oh sorry the comment above was for prabjot

    ReplyDelete
  58. @ neha
i agree he probably is in the factory. but the smell doesnt matter, its peace and quiet

    ReplyDelete
  59. Great! cant wait till we finish rebound, it was really good

    ReplyDelete
  60. @prabjot: yea he might have got down there the way he gets down stairs but this is so much more dangerous....when Sean and David were eating lunch and they went to the cliff David said something i like his wheel chair will be tumbling and turning all the way down.....so think about it 1 mistake David makes and hes tumbling down and a cliff has lots and lots of rocks so yeahh...

    ReplyDelete
  61. Yes! i cant wait either to finish Rebound ! What will be the next book we are reading? United We Stand also by Eric Walters?

    ReplyDelete
  62. @neha
i also think that, because it would be hard to get down and HARDER to get back up.But i was trying to emphasize if he was there, how he would get down

    ReplyDelete
  63. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  64. @prabhjot when I said that he went down the cliff I didn't literally mean that he went down it. I meant that he was like strolling. ( as neha said )

@prabhjot I was relpying to what neha said. She was asking if we were going to read united we stand after this book is done and I said we might read "we all fall down" first.

    ReplyDelete
  65. yea thats why i removed my comment.

@sonaliwhat do you mean by strolling

    ReplyDelete
  66. @prabhjot I meant that he was just kinda wondering around and stopped by the cliff, that's what I meant.

    ReplyDelete
  67. but seans at the top, so how is david here?

    ReplyDelete
  68. Sean didn't go to the cliff yet he saw something shine and he's now headed for the cliff and I think David is at the top. This is my thought, this isn't happening in the book. I'm only thinking/predicting this.

and what did u mean by is any one?

    ReplyDelete
  69. @ neha
But hasn't Sean been playing basketball with Sean?
Being in a wheelchair isn't stopping David from playing.
He may remember his accident, but he would still play.

I can wait to finish rebound because I DON'T WANT IT TO END!!!

    ReplyDelete
  70. @word nerd: Sean has been playing basketball with Sean its suppose to be Sean has bee playing basketball with David:P Ok David might remember his accident by playing basketball but he doesn't have like a flash back ...and yeah why would it stop David but like being in a wheel chair and going up and down a cliff that drops straight down is hard to get back up of ....a cliff has rocks so anytime David trying to get down he can slip and then god knows what will happen to David .In drawn pictures there doesn't seem to be much rocks and stuff but in cliffs there are tiny stones and anything can happen that's why some people say its taking a risk.

    ReplyDelete
  71. @Sonali: Sean did go to the cliff he was hanging on to a branch and bend down a bit to see but for what he could see David wasn't there .

    ReplyDelete
  72. This post is all the best work from Team 7 as a group.

    ReplyDelete
  73. @ Neha
well Sean isn't careless as I thought I described him in that Venn diagram and he is not mean or rude either so don't you think he's conscience will tell him that friendship is more valuable than a dance that can happen again. So far, we're reading what ever he's thinking. So possibly it can happen again. I think Sean is the type of guy that is reliable.

    ReplyDelete
  74. @ I love me my self and I
if this is you're prediction, than why do you think some thing else is going to happen
you can't assume you're prediction is wrong maybe it's correct

    ReplyDelete
  75. @Abeenash: yes we have figured out that Sean isn't rude but what about in the begging of the book? Sean didn't move for a kid in a wheel chair to get buy wasn't that rude?? And yea I guess so the dance can wait but wouldn't he think about if he doesn't go to the dance Caroline will be heart broken but if he goes to the dance David might do something stupid

    ReplyDelete
  76. He did that before he got in trouble by Mr.mcCully
now he changed right? Also Scott was there so he acted tough.

    ReplyDelete
