IRead 1

Hello Team,

Tell me about a character or item you read about during IRead time in Class?

Can you make any connections between the character you are reading about and Sean in Rebound?

90 comments:

  1. i read 39 clues book 1.

    it is really interesting!
Rick Riordan ALWAYS makes books interesting.

i really cant make a connection between rebound and the book because i just started reading it
and its the same with rebound.

    we didnt read a lot.

  6. In my book my character was Yelena. She was suppose to be executed but she wasn't because people witness that she didnt kill a person. This relates to to Sean because he was suppose to be suspended but he wasn't because some people witnessed that he didnt start a fight.

    ReplyDelete
  8. whats the book name it sound like a cool book

    ReplyDelete
  9. after i read the pollution article i want to stop polluting

    ReplyDelete
  10. Investigate...does this plant exist?...search it up and lets us know

    ReplyDelete
  11. @ Aqib you want to stop polluting in the island of reading the magazine or willing to do anything in the real world to stop polluting?...this is just like we discussed in the morning!

    ReplyDelete
  12. @ Stanly perfect connection to Rebound!

    ReplyDelete
  13. wow
and what if this planet does exist?
i dont think it will be apart of our solar system.

in grade 6 there was a guy who came ( his name was also cheney) he said we have found a lot of planets within our area being pulled be the suns gravitational pull

but they will not count them so i think they will do the same with this planet.

  14. Check out the latest poll...be honest and don't answer foolishly...the answers will affect how I teach and what we discuss in class.

I want meaningful and intellectual classes and your honest and productive feedback will help us do it.

  22. I read about the Human Body. Very interesting, turns out the reason for everyone having different color hair is due to the melanin. Darker hair tend to have more melanin and lighter ones, have a very small amount of melanin.

    (Yes, Im alright)

    ReplyDelete
  23. not post...poll

  36. In my book there is a charter named Millicent Min.She is like most other teenagers. She tries to act cool but ends up setting the curve. Its her first year of high school and its not going so well.On the first day of high school her parents and grandparent come along with her. Which for most teenagers starting high school is so NOT COOL lol :P

There is not really a connection between Sean from Rebound and Millicent but she just has started high school and she already set the curve so i think in my perspective no one will trust or talk to her at all because of her past (because she set the curve)and its the kind of the same thing for Sean.Mr.McCully judged Sean on his past and had thought it would be him. Its a totally two different situations but the judging in the past is the connections

    ReplyDelete
  37. @Donna: lol i am also gonna go search that up

@Mr.Cheney:i though the lecture today was pretty good i understood a lot and now ist makes me think if i could go back i would defiantly change my answer because when i learned all that i want to bring my answer into the real world what would we REALLY do

    ReplyDelete
  38. @donna

that magazine was from 2005 pretty old

    ReplyDelete
  39. @aqib thanks and yeaa that is pretty old lol :P but i did find this paragraph :
Very shortly after Pluto was discovered, debate began as to whether it should be called a Planet or not. It withstood all efforts to demote it…until today. The reason the issue was really brought to a head some 76 years after Pluto was original discovered is because of an exciting discovery in 2005. An object (unofficially called “Xenia”) larger than Pluto was found far outside of Pluto’s orbit (almost twice as far from the sun as Pluto). We know that there is a portion of the solar system called the “Kuiper Belt” that begins at about 30 AU and ends at about 50 AU (AU is an Astronomical Unit, or the distance from the Sun to the Earth, approximately 93 million miles). Pluto falls into this region of the solar system. As our technology has advanced we have found other objects in the Kuiper Belt. Mathematically we can anticipate that in the next hundred years we’ll discover hundreds or even thousands of objects that, “If Pluto is a planet, must also be a planet”.

For fifteen year old Bobby Phillips, when he wakes up one morning and discovers he's become invisible! After convincing his parents he still exists, Bobby is forced to remain at home and keep his condition a secret. When his parents are in a car accident that leaves them hospitalized.
There is not really a connection between Sean from Rebound and Bobby.

  43. During IRead time i was reading the book lucky's moutain ( the name has nothing to do with the story. ) In this story there was a girl named Alison who was 13 years old. She was nervous since she was new to the school.

After days she still had no friends and everyone hated her. She was short tempered so she got into fights quite easily. The first time she got in a fight she was just given a warning.

Kids continued teasing her so she got in trouble over and over again. She was never given a chance to clarify herself. ( beacause kids tend to give excuses. ) This relates to the book "rebound" because sean too wasn't given a chance to clarify himself.

He also made the same mistakes again and again just like Alison did except Alison only repeated her mistakes because she was short tempered and Sean wasn't.

    *Haumea.

  45. Well my book was about these characters named Flavia, Lupus, Jonathan, and Nubia. I can connect to Sean's life to Jonathan’s because they both moved very simple lives to harder and more sophisticated. Sean used to live in a rural area with fewer problems he didn't have to care about much, best athlete in the school, etc but his dad got a promotion and they moved from there. Jonathan used to live in Jerusalem a very multicultural area where Muslims, Christians, and Jews live in harmony but a great calamity struck and they had to move to Ostia a big town besides Rome. There they encounter many problems such as racism and hate crimes because a majority of people in Ostia used to worship gods like Perseus and Neptune a minority were Christians. Jonathan’s life is harder in Ostia his very own neighbors threw eggs at him. This relates with Sean’s life because in his old school he had no problems until he moved and now he gets into trouble and fights. Both their lives hadto make big moves into bigger cities and both are stuck in a dilemma.

  46. Today i read the book called the summoning by kelly armstrong.

In this book chloe is starting to settle down in her life after her mother death. until she ends up in a mental house for trouble teens.chloe ended up in the trouble house for eens because she started having illusion of people.but afterwards finds out that some is trying to tell her something.she tell her dad that someone trying to tell her something.but her dad doesn't beleive her and leaves her in the trouble home for teens.

this relate to rebound because sean tries to tell Mr.McCully that he didn't start the fight with david. But Mr.McCully does beleive him.

  47. @Donna get well soon
@Everyone else doing research I heard on Doc zone that there is a pair of planets a few hundred light years away from the sun they happen to revolve around each other like the sun and other planets. They haven't actually verified whether these are planets or dwarf planets. I'll try checking.

  53. The character in my book is a wolf and she has a pack of friends that are also wolfs but one of them are missing because of family issues and everyone is assuming she ran away. So far the girl that ran away can relate to Sean in a way is that Sean and Grace are both having problems that are going to a extent.

    @Neha nice connection.

He is the shortest in the class and he is in Grade 6. I can't really make a connection yet because he didn't fully explain himself.

  60. @Sana ur book seems really intresting mainly how she has illusions of ppl and its sorta like a movie i watched long time ago named 6th Sense i dont remember a whole lot but i remember that a kid had an Extra sense and that lets him see and talk to ghosts and he was real small when hes started seeing them and his mom thought he was dreaming and then i stopped watching it but it was interesting watching movies and reading books like that its cool learning oout about the nearly impossible

    ReplyDelete
  61. I Agree with one Of Stanleys posts if you saw David fight its a different story but when you didnt see the fight you always think "how does a kid in a wheelchair beat up a kid thats lie 5foot you always get youre emotions and youre feelings get to you and thats how life is.

Also how thay have more doctors, polices, dentist and many more.
