Rebound 11 - The Science Project

Building Prior Knowledge

David and Sean are doing a project on Cell Regeneration.  Do some research on your own and post your findings on what Cell Regeneration is?

As well why do you think David wants to explore this topic?

investigating what cell regeneration is will enhance your ACTIVE reading of Rebound.  It will enhance our ability to understand David and predict what struggles he goes on with in his mind.  The complexity of his character will be further revealed.

  1. first of all i think that david chose this topic because probably he does not know if his legs can get better so he chose this topic to see if his legs can get better.

    ReplyDelete
  2. also the research i found was that if an animal detaches a limb or tail to avoid capture. After the limb or tail has been autotomized, cells move into action and tissues regenerate. that is why reptiles and amphibians grow broken limbs faster it is because they have more tissues.i don't know what autotomized means so i searched it it means division of the body into two or more pieces.

  3. @Mr.Cheney hahaha nice terry fox cartoon

    ReplyDelete
  4. I think david and sean chose this topic because they probably cpund that topic cool. like i know i would find that topic cool because it is kindof cool that some amphibians grow there tails back.

    ReplyDelete
  5. @sana so you think that sean and david chosethis topic through curiosity and it is cool ... nothing else

    ReplyDelete
  6. @sana ya it is pretty cool to grow a tail back also i think that our nails regenerate im not sure i will check.

    ReplyDelete
  7. In biology cell regeneration is the process of renewal, and restoration and growth that makes cells, organisms, and organs rebound to it's original stage after disturbance or damage. Every species is capable of regeneration. Down from the small amoeba's to the large whale. An example of regeneration is us. Humans. We regenerate every day Im sure you guys don't even know it. Your fooling around with the razor on your sharpener and you cut yourself. Within a few days there's gonna be skin on top of it. Within a month you wont even see it. The skin cells and blood cells are working together just to mend a piece of skin. The urodele salamander is able to regenerate its limbs, tail, jaws even its eyes. Many lizards use this to get away from predators if they bite off the tail the lizard can run away quick without having to worry about it's tail growing back.

    ReplyDelete
  8. @sauce boss wow that is interesting i never knew every living thing can do cell regeneration.

    ReplyDelete
  9. @suace boss do you know if it hurts for the lizard to bite its tail off.

    ReplyDelete
  10. I agree with Aqib
The thought or idea of losing your ability to walk run, play, swim, almost every cool thing, its horrible. But instead of sitting around and sulking about it, he gets up and starts working on how he can help his legs. If there's a chance he can walk again. I'd really admire David if he has that mentality, to be proactive, and stop complaining. As well, his discovery could help other kids in need. Or maybe David was just assigned that topid.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Yes it does, just like getting cut, it hurts at first but it slowly regenerates with the scab and in time heals.

    ReplyDelete
  12. cell regeneration is when
a body part is cut off, or gone.
the cells in the tissues can reform.
the cells start to reproduce, and the body part starts go grow back.

i just thought that david found it cool,
but what aqib said is interesting,
    but,
    his legs just dont work.
it is not that his legs came off,
so i dont think it has to do with his legs regenerating.
but it may tie in with it...
    it is very interesting.

i think that he finds the topic interesting...
i do because i love science, and what we are learning about the cells is interesting,
and i think he finds it rather interesting as well

    ReplyDelete
  13. @ tabish
    so for example,
    when you cut your hair,
    it grows back.
    would you call that regenerating?

    ReplyDelete
  14. Cell regeneration is when cells in your body that are dead and some how it regains strength to work again.

I think David wants to study and do a project in this topic because of his legs and he wants to have them back again and to see if there are any type of medications or operations that could help him gain his legs back.

    ReplyDelete
  15. WEAR RED AND WHITE TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  16. @malav
Yes its also called regenerating. If the is cut off fully from the head. It has to grow new ones from the epidermis. This only happens when your bald. But if you cut the top part of the hair it will continue to grow. Cheneys hair for example he's not bald, he's got hair he just cuts it, it still grows.

    ReplyDelete
  17. @sauce boss ow that would hurt alot it is like cutting a part of yourself.

    ReplyDelete
  18. @ stanley
    good thought.
i dont think that he will be like this
for the rest of his life.
he may be in a wheel chair only for a while.
i think sooner or later, in the book
david will be walking and running again.

    ReplyDelete
  19. @malav so do you think if someone cut of your leg it would grow back.

    ReplyDelete
  20. @stanly so is there medication that that kills paralysis that david can use.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Cell regeneration is when a animal or living species regenerates it's tissues by the cells working together to make a new tissue for example a snake can get its tail bitten off or something and regrow it right after.

    ReplyDelete
  22. @ aqib
    possibly??
    im not sure.
but i saw this video on youtube about
how a man got his finger cut, and
his brother told him to put on a special powder, and his finger grew back.

    is it true?
    im not sure.

    ReplyDelete
  23. @tushsar ya but how come if you take out a snake fang it does not grow back.

    ReplyDelete
  24. @malav oh it is alright that is pretty cool but i sometimes don't believe youtube and what people say.

    ReplyDelete
  25. @Aqib snake fang is not the part of the cell like tissue that use cells, a fang isn't technically a part of the tissue.

    ReplyDelete
  26. @malav ya i searched it up turns out you can not grow back a leg it would be cool if you can but you can not.

    ReplyDelete
  27. @aqib you'r welcome

    ReplyDelete
  28. @tabish but can a baby be born and never grow hair.

    ReplyDelete
  29. @ aqib
ya you cant always believe the internet,
and a leg is a little drastic,
    a finger, may be possible.
you know what i find interesting?
my cousin's finger nail completely came off.
so im guessing that the nail grew back
    because of cell regeneration.

    ReplyDelete
  30. @malav ya of course his nails grew back if it did not than he has a problem.

    ReplyDelete
  31. @malav i think it is only you and me on.

    ReplyDelete
  32. @ aqib
    ya it is,
but still, it proves that our body can also do cell regeneration.
    and by the way,
    my cousin is a she

    ReplyDelete
  33. @malav my bad and ya our body can cell regenerate.

    ReplyDelete

  35. Cell regeneration is commonly growth in a certain part of a living body, (like how we all get taller every day) also renewal when the cells reform to grow back a certain part of a living body (when a body part has been removed). Every living thing can and do regenerate, including humans.

This definition makes me assume that the reason why David was interested in this topic is because its simular to his situation. At first I was thinking, "what does paralysis have to do with cell regeneration, when someone is paralyzed it's not like their paralyzed part is cut off so it can regenerate." But then he is "different" just like people that have lost a body part, and like Tabish said he probably wants to help others with a simular situation.
Or maybe, he just wants to be aware of other disabilities and how they compare to his own.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Cell regeneration is the renewal or growth of a cell, organ, or organelle due to damage, or disturbance.

I think David wants to study this maybe because he wants to get his legs back as Tabish said losing your ability to walk, run and play sports is a difficult thing especially in David's case because loved playing basketball

    ReplyDelete
  37. @Shelby
But when your paralyzed you cant regenerate because your legs arent cut off theyre still there...

    ReplyDelete
  38. In biology, regeneration is the process of renewal, restoration, and growth that makes genomes, cells, organs, organisms, and ecosystems resilient to natural fluctuations or events that cause disturbance or damage. Every species is capable of regeneration, from bacteria to humans.

I think David would like to study this subject because he maybe thinking of cutting his legs off and hopping that they will grow back again all healthy and strong. In a way of strong that he will be able to walk, run and most importantly to play basketball. As everything that people do, most of us like to do some research before we do things like that. For example if David didn't research that, and cut his legs off then he would find out that they will never grow back again.

I think this is very hard for him because think of this.. Waking up after a treble dream of you and you dad driving, everything was good till, you feel a sudden pain, you don't know what it is because you can't wake up, suddenly you do. You find your self in the hospital, and you have lost all feeling in your legs. You start praying that in one hour or so you will be be able to go and start walking, when suddenly the doctor comes in, tells you that you can't walk for the rest of your life. Just imagine that. If this was your life how would you handle it?

    ReplyDelete
  39. @donna so you are saying that your legs can not get better if your legs are paralyzed.

    ReplyDelete
  40. @am17 they could if you just damage a small part of your spinal cord that could regenerate

    ReplyDelete
  41. i think cell regeneration is when Cells in an organism that have the ability to reproduce and create more of that cell, to replace similar cells that are dying. (cells that do not get enough oxygen or nutrients die).

    ReplyDelete
  42. @Donna I understand what your saying, since his legs are already there it would never be able to regenerate,so i change my mind i think David wants to do this topic either he is simply interested or he just want know if he could be able to do that

    ReplyDelete
  43. @am17 yeah i think that david and sean just chose this topic through curiosity.due to that the fact that even i would find that topic interesting and shoose to do my science report on.

    ReplyDelete
  44. @shelby but is spine could regenerate i f he damaged a small part of it... i think.

    ReplyDelete
  45. @ polish me if he cuts of his leg you do realize that they won't be able to regenerate.due to the fact that terry fox had his leg cut off so they put on a fake one because the docter knew terry's leg won't be able to regenerate.in addition if david does cut off is legs (just sayin) and his legs do regenerate his legs will come out paralyzed because his spinal cord will still be damaged.

    ReplyDelete
  46. my awnser is similar to what sana because that's what mrs. ang told us that when a cell die it has an ability to reproduce more of that cell.

    ReplyDelete
  47. i think ms ang told us about cell regeneration but she said that "our cells are alway making new cells".i think you guys might remember her saying that.

    ReplyDelete
  48. @pizza no i think u heard it wrong i think she said that are cell are always making cells.

    ReplyDelete
  49. i think that david chose this topic because he wanted to find out if his leg can be better just like all those animals who can grow their tails ba ck and also what sana said maybe they found it cool and so, they decided to choose this topic for their sciece project

    ReplyDelete
  50. @ sana lol thats what i meant that cells can make new cells

    ReplyDelete
  51. @pizza no died cells don't regenerate im rite because many cell die everyday and new ones are made from ALIVE CELLS.

    ReplyDelete
  52. try to think like David, a sports fan, that loves bases basketball and has also got game. He gets in a car crash and his life is over. He starts again with a wheelchair. Try to imagine the torment that must run rampant in his mind.

In a word David could be considered desperate ( but for what...and what is desperate capable of?)

    ReplyDelete
  53. Ms Ang commented that cancer cells dont stop multiplying and thus cause a lump (cancer lump)

    ReplyDelete
  54. @ polish me i agree with what sana said david's leg will come back it will probably be paralized due to the fact that his spinal cord will still be damaged because i dont think that his spinal cord could get better if his leg will come back.

    ReplyDelete
  55. i don't think that david that dum to think that his leg will regenerate cells and grow back if that was possible don't you think that the docters would have done anthing yet to help davids leg to regenerate.

    ReplyDelete
  56. @mr cheney i think it is capable of making a new theory of regenerating legs and arms.i just found out that your liver can regenerate.

    ReplyDelete
  57. @ sana REALLY its capable of making a new theory of regenaration legs and arms? o.0

    ReplyDelete
  58. no legs and arms cannot regenerate but sciencist are trying to find a way to regenerate arms:

    http://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&q=cache:O9qgLW-88_4J:outreach.mcb.harvard.edu/teachers/Summer07/KerriScott/regen_webquest.ppt+could+your+leg+regenerate&hl=en&gl=ca&pid=bl&srcid=ADGEESg6KWIkq1k3PBkivduv0REqbARUlidw2I_UQUmivT-J9UU7XT0BIqtfujWuRa6yMqLck4FyTe4wloq7v__V1lMe98VvVOda4SUiGxdCLGJr26H8tYoOQg0oeWScG3Uv5IxNkA7-&sig=AHIEtbT3EazBJaBqKxGFVIFDZYBzSX3XkA

here copy this website this where i got it my info from.

    ReplyDelete
  59. @ donna cool i'm gonna try breaking one jk.

    ReplyDelete
  60. People often hold on to hopes and dreams even regardless of the uncertainty of them when things seem bad.

    ReplyDelete
  61. remember David has emotion and is living this life everyday. Your responses are very scientific and matter of fact.

    ReplyDelete
  62. yeah david could and i think that is why he chose this topic.like sciencist are trying to find how we could regenerate our legs so maybe he is curious too about if he could regenerate his spine.

    ReplyDelete
  63. i feel sooooooooooooooooooooooo sad for david :(
first of all he got into a car accident
second of all his legs got paralized and he has to sit on a wheel chair
and third of all he loves basketbal but he can't play it the way he was used to and due to all the facts in the book he was a really good basketball player :'(

    ReplyDelete
  64. @am17
yeah, because they cant get better, but if a part of your body gets cut off it can grow back. Like for a cut off finger, I just read that if you treat the wound with powdered extracellular matrix it will grow back in 4 weeks. So regeneration medicine can help treat it.

    ReplyDelete
  65. @Sana
umm i know that it wont grow back i was taking about how he might think it might grow back.

    ReplyDelete
  66. i found this on the internet trying to understand it

It is possible for a person to "break their back or neck" yet not sustain a spinal cord injury as long as only the bones (the vertebrae) around the spinal cord are damaged, but the spinal cord is not affected. In these cases, the person may not experience paralysis after the vertebrae are stabilized.

    for the website:

    http://fr.ee/article/spinal-cord-regeneration-a-reality-or-myth-

    ReplyDelete
  67. @pizza don't feel sad yet i found a website that said that your spine could heal.but trying to find more proof to support that.in addition i think by the end we are done blogging we could probably find out that if david is going to heel or not.

    ReplyDelete
  68. @pizza he could still play on a basket team.

    ReplyDelete
  69. @Mr.Cheney
Very true! And yes, David still has this hope for things to get better for him. So regeneration doesn't have to work for paralysis because sadly cell regeneration is probably the closest thing to a cure for paralysis.

    ReplyDelete
  70. @Mr.Cheney
I guess you can say David is desperate, but who wouldn't be if they were in his shoes?! Of course, his desperation can be capable to research like crazy and just might find something. <--Now theres a task, try to find a cure for paralysis!

    ReplyDelete
  71. oh afer reading this i think your spine could regenerate if its not injured badly read what this site says:

    http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2009/08/090802155231.htm

    ReplyDelete
  72. @ sana i never said that he can't play basketball anymore i said that he can't play it the way he was used to

    ReplyDelete
  73. @donna all theese site i've listed up they all are talking about how your spine can regenerate and cure paralysis! but i'm trying to find out for sure if it does regenerate i don't just wanna say something like your spinal cord does regenerate before i have any support that it does happen

    ReplyDelete
  74. some one help me find out if your spine regenerates or not

    ReplyDelete
  75. @ sana it's just a story it didn't really happen in a real life. i dont think that eric walter researed for all this information before writing that book

    ReplyDelete
  76. @Sana
that site is an article of how university students have created a medicine for spine regeneration, i'll try to research about that medicine or find out the name.

    ReplyDelete
  77. @Sana but how do you know if it was a small part

    ReplyDelete
  78. This seems like a reliable website...
    http://www.naturalhealthcure.org/diseases-and-treatments/paralysis-treatemt-natural-cure.html

    ReplyDelete
  79. Just like every other disease, we are being taught to think there is no hope, sometimes there is, not the medications they sell at drug stores, but the ones that people have been using before pills have been invented.

    ReplyDelete
  80. In biology, regeneration is the process of renewal, restoration, and growth that makes genomes, cells, organs, organisms, and ecosystems resilient to natural fluctuations or events that cause disturbance or damage. Every species is capable of regeneration, from bacteria to humans.

I think that David wants to explore this topic so much because i think that he dreams of the day he would want his legs back. They way reptiles and amphibians grow their tales back he would want to get his legs back.

I also predict that Sean and David will get an A+ on their science project.

    ReplyDelete
  81. wow, just found out im not going to be at school tomorrow morning (doctor's appointment) so basicly ill be going to school for the terry fox walk only. haha

    ReplyDelete
  82. oh no i ruin it for guys you were supposed to find out about the small bone in chapter 9 or 10 not sure.

    ReplyDelete
  83. @twinkle toes olga posted the same thing has you.

    ReplyDelete
  84. @donna you are going to miss the quiz.

    ReplyDelete
  85. @donna that site is helpful i never knew that they were 5 Types of paralysis.i wonder what Types of paralysis david has?

    ReplyDelete
  86. @Sana i went to google and it showed it on Wikiepedia so thats were i got the information.

    ReplyDelete
  87. @i think that David is paralyzed from the waist down so he cant move his legs.

I wonder how Davids dad run him over like that like what about if Davids dad didnt see him cross the road on day and- BOOM! a car crash and David gets paralyzed.

    ReplyDelete
  88. @Sana, oh yeah and the heads up champ!

    ReplyDelete
  89. But sometimes wikipedia liezzzzzzzzzz.

    ReplyDelete
  90. I wonder if David thinks that one day he will get his legs back.

    ReplyDelete
  91. @twinkle toes i believe that is called Paraplegia

    am i right donna

    ReplyDelete
  92. @Donna what grade would you give david and sean on there science project? Why?

    ReplyDelete
  93. @donna did you find the name i didn't stll trying

    ReplyDelete
  94. @twinkle toes i know that a big word you will find out more about it if you go on the site donna suggested.

    ReplyDelete
  95. @Mr Cheney are you still planning to do the heads up face off with my class?
Whats the high score for you class?

    ReplyDelete
  96. @Stephanie i would have gave David and Sean an A+ like if they really done a good job. I think that they will get an A+ because David is a really smart kid and he know alot about cell regenration i think that its really personal for him. I think that he wants to find out what happens when your paralyzed so he does alot of research.

    ReplyDelete
  97. I sure hope one day that David will get his legs back. If only humans can cutt off there legs and regenarate it back.

    ReplyDelete
  98. oh i didn't find the name of the medicine but i found out that sodiam plays a big role in regenerating

    this is what it says:

ScienceDaily (Sep. 29, 2010) — Sodium gets a bad rap for contributing to hypertension and cardiovascular disease. Now biologists at Tufts University's School of Arts and Sciences have discovered that sodium also plays a key role in initiating a regenerative response after severe injury. The Tufts scientists have found a way to regenerate injured spinal cord and muscle by using small molecule drugs to trigger an influx of sodium ions into injured cells.

    site:

    http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2010/09/100928171428.htm

    ReplyDelete
  99. @Twinkle Toes- yes, David does know alot about cell regenration and I agree it is very person to him, since he has lived through it.
Do you think his teacher would grade him easiser then the other students because he is in a wheelchair?

    ReplyDelete
  100. @stephanie i wouldn't give them a grade now because they are not done yet.

    ReplyDelete
  101. That is a nice cartoon. I get what it means how kids complain so much about running the school and Terry fox ran the whole ontario with an artifical leg and he didnt give up. Wow what a fighter he was.

    ReplyDelete
  102. @Sana- Sorry I didnt know but so far with all there reasearch and dedecation to this science project what grade do you think David and Sean deserve?

    ReplyDelete
  103. @stephanie i agree with u because the teacher are going to feel sorry for him that his spine can't regenerate so they might give him a easy mark.in addition i agree with you because you already read they book.

    ReplyDelete
  104. @Stephanie well i dont really think that just because hes in a wheelchair he will get a better grade. If he done a good job on the project than i would give him a good grade other than that if he did a lousy job then his grade would be diffrent.

    ReplyDelete
  105. @Eden
nothing, just going to find out why i had that fainting episode
    @Sana
David's condition could be paraplegia, so only his head and arms can move...
    @Stephanie
I bet David and Sean will get an A on that project, it will make us readers assume that David and Sean can work well together, which would probably lead to something else in the ending of the book.

    ReplyDelete
  106. a+ because sean said "we got more done then i thought we would have" so i think they must have worked really hard.

    ReplyDelete
  107. personaly i think that David is a smart kid im not so sure about Sean but i think that they will ace the project and get an A+. :)

    ReplyDelete
  108. @Donna okay havee a good time at the doctors.rehehehehehehehe.

    ReplyDelete
  109. Cell Regeneration :in biology, regeneration is the process of renewal, restoration, and growth that makes genomes, cells, organs, organisms, and ecosystems resilient to natural fluctuations or events that cause disturbance or damage.

David's leg is damaged a synonym for damaged is injured so David understand what cell regeneration is he knows when something like an dogs tail gets cut off it will sooner or later grow back that why David wants his injured leg to be better so he can play basketball again on his 2 feet this major accident cause him something that changed everything of him. People didn’t think he was a normal kid anymore and I guess that what he doesn’t like it and will try to help find a cure or he might be like Rick Hansen. What did rick Hansen do? Rick Hansen got into a fishing accident and also lost both legs like David but when that happened he didn’t stop there he kept moving on. Rick Hansen wheeled through 34 countries in 26 months to complete his now famous Man in Motion World Tour. His incredible worldwide journey inspired an entire nation to believe that anything is possible and moved thousands of people to make a difference in their communities. Maybe David wants to be someone like that. During the book David at times is rude but also who knows it might just be because there are problems at home for him. But just because he got into a fight with a total stranger doesn’t mean he doesn’t have a good heart. It’s just hiding inside.

    ReplyDelete
  110. i thing it is paraplegia because he could talk so that mean his head is not paralyzed or his arms because he pushes his chair with them.

    ReplyDelete
  111. @Sana- Yes i read the book but im not going to give away what happends to the end.If you remember at the begining of the book the reason he liked sean was because sean treated him like a "normal" person.so overall it really depends on the type of person his science teacher is.

@Twinkle Toes-Like i said before it depends on the kind of person his science teacher is.

    -Last post for me tonight-

    ReplyDelete
  112. @donna i went to the docter last year because i fainted and had to get a blood test.well my docter send me for a blood test everytime i visit.

    ReplyDelete
  113. @neha he is paralyzed because of his spine not his legs so his spine should regenerate not his legs

    ReplyDelete
  114. Just because someone is rude doesn't mean they don't have a good side. for example a bully why do they bully people because they have stress at home so they try to get it off or someone else bullied them so in this school Homelands Public Middle School David wants to be tough maybe because someone bullied him at his other school. It makes sense to me aleast.

    ReplyDelete
  115. @Sana:oo my bad well then i guess his spin needs to regenerate but no matter what he might want to be like rick hansen.because he also lost his legs not in a car accident but a fishing accident.

    ReplyDelete
  116. @neha oh i get wat u r trying to say about david being rude and i agree with u

    ReplyDelete
  117. @ stephanie
    well
i think the teacher definitely will grade them easier because of david being in a wheelchair.

    ReplyDelete
  118. @Sana:thank you

    I agree with am17:
Because when you get into an accident and lost something you love just because of that accident makes you want to feel why did I go? David liked playing basketball and he lost that. It’s not that he can play he can but he won’t be able to run across the room dribbling the ball he will need to wheel across and in chapter 8 when they sat down for dinner I think he said he did play basketball meaning not anymore i think in his old school he was a part of the team until he got hurt and then just wasn’t allowed to play

    ReplyDelete
  119. @malav what grde r u going give Sean and David on their project

    ReplyDelete
  120. @Eden
    HAHAHA, thanks

    @Stephanie
What if their science teacher is one of those people that treats David differently because of his disability and maybe that will change their grade and boost it, that message from the author to us is that we think about Sean and how he might think that if hes partners with David he'll get better grades.

    ReplyDelete
  121. Oh wow, sorry Malav didn't read your post until now, yes i agree with your idea.

    ReplyDelete
  122. @am17 and neha I agree with both of you because I know how would feel if I lost somthing very importent and that I loved

I think he's still going. I just saw an ad on his campaign for walking across across some sort of land. He must be pretty old now. And you have a point there, maybe david didn't stop moving he just had a setback in life.
But getting into a fight with a complete stranger doesn't seem a bit crazy to you? If Mrs Steer yelled at you for not being prepared, do you think you can just yell back? Rage at people even if they are way older than you, and hold a higher status within the building. What is there in the book that makes you think that he's a good person?

  124. @Malav: yea the teacher will grade him through easy but what i don't get is what does that have to do with his legs by not being able to walk?? like his hands works his brain does to but still? Like even David was saying people think just cause his legs stopped working his ears don't work either. So the teachers should understand that hes a normal kid that cant walk its easy as that but i don't see him being a slow learner or him getting distracted by anything when it comes to homework or work.

  125. @ malav I agree with you that the teacher that the teacher will mark them easy but I'll agree with you if you had a mark.

  127. i think if i was a teacher who grades easy for david,
    i would probably give them a 3+
depending on what type of grade they are ACTUALLY
    suppose to get.
so i would give 3+ if they actually deserved something like a 2++ or 3-

You make a good point, it's true no one can be completely "bad", David is not even half bad. But we'll find out why he acted the way he did later on in the book.
I think he got into a fight with Sean because maybe at that time he was angry at something or it was just a time he was letting out all his stress and anger towards all he has been through like how people talk to him, how people act towards him. Of course that will get anyone ticked off.

  129. @ donna yes that could be the reason.
he was letting his anger out because of the wheel chair

  130. @Donna exactly like everyone living in this planet everyone has a mean side bu also a nice when u get into a fight with your friend will u be nice to them when they did something hurtful to you? no u will try to get your point across their mind.So its impossible to not have a bad and good side i believe everyone has it and they use it anytime anywhere.Like look at our parent they get so stressed from work they come home and take there anger out at us we didn't do anything they just need to get that anger out they don't realize it but they are.So maybe that's David what happened in the past he wasn't happy about. In chapter 8 he even said he liked it back in the country so maybe he was really mad and his parents but he was forced to go to school.

  131. @the sauce boss: no we cant yell at mrs.steer cause shes an elder person and she's a teacher at our school but remember you can be nice but sometime somewhere u were rude.......

    That is true,
But I think the country thing was when seans
    Dad was talking.
He was telling David about how this house wasnt as big
As their old one, and how they moved because of the job

  133. i think sean and david will a+ because david is artistic .due to the fact that he was sketching one of the grade 7 girls face.
